2tall partners with Shipster to enhance global expansion
2tall, a fashion brand catering to tall men and endorsed by ex-footballer Peter Crouch, is poised for further international expansion following a strategic investment in shipping technology.
The Aberdeen-based eCommerce retailer has partnered with Shipster, a custom shipping integration platform, to digitalise its warehouse management and shipping processes. This investment aims to enable faster, error-free, and cost-effective order fulfilment. The software connects online retailers and eCommerce warehouses with an array of couriers, warehouse management systems, and sales platforms including Shopify.
As a result of this partnership, 2tall has automated its pick-to-ship process. This change has led to improved efficiency and productivity, enhanced profitability, and increased operational flexibility, all of which support the brand's growth ambitions.
The impact of this technological shift was evident during Black Friday 2024, when 2tall successfully dispatched more than twice the number of orders compared to its previous capabilities.
J.J. Warwick, Managing Director of 2tall, expressed the significance of the partnership: "We've always seen ourselves as a solution to a problem that tall men face, and our goal has always been to make life easier for guys who have been overlooked by traditional retailers, and even big and tall stores, which a lot of our customers complain put the focus on big, rather than tall and slim. As we grew, the challenges of managing fulfilment and shipping were taking up too much of our time. Partnering with Shipster has been transformative. It's freed us to focus on what we do best - creating exceptional clothing - while they take care of the complex logistics."
Since its founding in 2013, 2tall has sought to fill a niche in the fashion market by offering stylish, high-quality clothing designed specifically for tall men. The brand counts notable endorsements from Peter Crouch and various professional sportsmen including British basketball alumnus Kieron Achara and Commonwealth beach volleyball player Chris Gregory.
However, the surge in international demand had exposed limitations in the company's existing logistics systems, resulting in inefficiencies, higher costs, and errors. Managing Director J.J. Warwick and Co-founder Andrew Burr recognised the need for a significant overhaul of their logistics infrastructure to maintain their competitive edge.
The introduction of the new technology stack has drastically reduced dispatch times, allowing the company to handle a larger volume of orders swiftly and accurately. This advancement minimises human error by employing barcode scanning and automated shipping rules, ensuring accurate deliveries consistently.
Shipster's dynamic shipping algorithms have enabled 2tall to select the most cost-effective carriers based on parcel criteria, significantly reducing shipping expenses and eliminating unnecessary reshipping costs due to errors. The automated shipping rules also allow any staff member to efficiently dispatch orders regardless of service knowledge, streamlining the process.
Shipster's licensing model offers flexibility, as the business can adjust licenses or courier options to meet demand fluctuations, a critical capability for retail operations.
Tony Cheetham, Founder and Managing Director at Shipster, stated: "2tall is a perfect example of a company's mission in action. Retailers today need solutions that are not only efficient but also scalable and adaptable. We're thrilled to support 2tall as they continue to redefine what it means to shop for tall men's fashion. Their success is a testament to how powerful technology can transform business operations and drive growth in a competitive global marketplace."
