CCL opens Beijing office to boost cross-border eCommerce to UK

Fri, 18th Jul 2025

CCL has expanded its operations in Beijing to provide enhanced cross-border logistics and customs services for Chinese and Asian eCommerce businesses targeting the UK and European markets.

The company, which handles logistics and customs brokerage, has established a direct presence in China aimed at improving communication with local clients and serving as a central hub for eCommerce firms facing export and import challenges in the UK and European Union.

Local presence

According to the company, its Beijing office allows it to offer a local point of contact for Chinese and Asian businesses. The office aims to make logistics processes more accessible by providing support in both Mandarin and English, and by operating within Asian time zones.

"At CCL, we help Chinese and Asian eCommerce brands successfully expand into UK markets through our straightforward, cost-effective solutions for cross-border logistics, customs clearance and VAT. By having a physical office and team operating in China, we offer a more accessible, local point of contact for businesses that prefer to communicate in Mandarin as well as English, and operate within Asian time zones," says Stuart Campey, CEO at CCL.

The company notes that a significant proportion of its client base consists of Chinese eCommerce businesses. In response, it has invested in building a localised team to further strengthen its role within the Chinese and wider Asian markets.

Industry partnerships

CCL has become a member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. By doing so, it aims to create new partnerships and network with businesses involved in international shipping between Asia and the UK or EU.

The company says that current global market uncertainties make it an opportune moment for businesses to work with trusted third-party logistics providers, particularly to address export tariffs and customs complexities.

With these factors in mind, CCL will utilise its Beijing office to expand its client base, focusing on helping more Chinese enterprises navigate shipping and customs issues as they export products abroad.

Logistics challenges

"As China's economy remains propelled by high-value exporters, our goal is to support these businesses by optimising their logistics operations and protecting profit margins. With 2025 creating many challenges for global import and export supply chains, leveraging a door-to-door shipping service that's tailored to their business is more important than ever" adds Stuart.

CCL, which has been operating since 1999, provides services for eCommerce retailers and delivery providers aiming to expedite shipments to and from the UK and the Eurozone. The company's network includes an External Temporary Storage Facility to assist with the movement of cross-border goods through air, sea, road, and rail transport modes.

Chinese and Asian clients will have access to advice and support from CCL's Director of Business Development and Head of Asia, Xue Bai, who will provide logistical consultation to businesses wanting to scale up their international trade.

"Backed by our Beijing office, we're confident that businesses in China and the rest of Asia will benefit from better communication, local time zones and more streamlined logistics operations as they expand into the UK and European markets" concludes Stuart.
