Cynomi adds impact analysis & continuity to vCISO platform

Thu, 10th Jul 2025

Cynomi has introduced new Business Impact Analysis and Business Continuity Planning features for its vCISO platform.

The latest features are aimed at enabling managed service providers (MSPs) and managed security service providers (MSSPs) to better identify, assess and protect critical business processes. The updates seek to address the challenges facing cybersecurity professionals in prioritising security efforts, streamlining continuity planning and enhancing overall business resilience.

Business Impact Analysis (BIA) is designed to help security teams systematically assess and prioritise business functions, allowing security strategies to be more closely aligned with essential organisational needs. The new Business Continuity Planning (BCP) component supports the creation of continuity plans that are both up-to-date and data-driven, reducing the reliance on spreadsheets or manual processes.

According to Cynomi, traditional approaches to BIA and BCP have been resource-heavy and fragmented, often proving too complex and time-consuming for service providers. The company's new tools aim to simplify these processes by automating workflows and integrating risk management into a single, structured platform.

Feature details

The new BIA feature enables cybersecurity teams to assess their organisations' critical processes. It prioritises these processes, ensuring that resources are directed where they can have the most impact on business operations.

The BCP module allows service providers to use dynamic, data-supported planning methods. This eliminates manual interventions and disconnected workflows, helping organisations maintain a consistent and actionable approach to continuity management.

In addition, the integrated risk assessment and remediation mapping functionality offers users a unified space in which to identify risks and determine appropriate mitigation steps. Cynomi states this enables a more seamless transition from risk identification to implementation of security measures.

The platform also converts cybersecurity data into strategic insights. By doing so, the company says that cybersecurity moves beyond fulfilment of compliance requirements to become an enabler of business objectives and strategy discussions.

Cynomi's announcement emphasised the centralisation and automation advantages of its platform, allowing cybersecurity professionals to manage risk and resilience in one location. The company says this streamlines previously disparate processes and reduces the overall workload for security teams.

Company perspective

"With the introduction of Business Impact Analysis and Business Continuity Planning, we are giving cybersecurity service providers the tools they need to go beyond defense and actively drive business success," said David Primor, Ph.D., Co-founder and CEO of Cynomi. "These new capabilities not only help service providers strengthen security strategies but also empower them to communicate the business value of cybersecurity to leadership."

The company outlined that its ongoing approach to cybersecurity and compliance management is based on automation, AI-driven insights, and simplified workflows to address complex security processes. Cynomi positions its vCISO platform as a means for service providers to map risks, align assets and improve resilience with enhanced operational control and clarity.

Cynomi continues to focus on providing a central cybersecurity hub tailored for MSPs and MSSPs. The AI-powered platform aims to standardise processes and provide guidance for cybersecurity management, including automated risk assessment, compliance readiness, remediation planning and reporting.

Cynomi states that by automating these processes, it can reduce manual workloads by as much as 70 percent, allowing providers to accelerate their security and compliance efforts. Since its establishment in 2020, the company has built a user base comprising MSPs, MSSPs and consultancies across global markets including Israel, the United Kingdom and the United States.

The newly launched BIA and BCP features are now integrated into Cynomi's vCISO offering for service providers seeking to fortify their approach to cybersecurity and business continuity planning.
