DTCP invests in Atlantic Hub, advancing Irish data centres

DTCP has announced its role as the primary investor in Atlantic Hub, a data centre developer based in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

The investment by DTCP will support Atlantic Hub's large-scale campus developments, including a newly approved data centre at Foyle Port Innovation Park in Derry-Londonderry, which marks Northern Ireland's first substantial data centre campus.

Atlantic Hub, established in 2018, is working on developing another campus in County Donegal, Ireland. The two sites are set to provide up to 170MW of capacity to cater to demands in cloud computing and AI needs for large-scale IT users.

Zahl Limbuwala, Operating Partner at DTCP, expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, "We are excited to be involved in the onward development of Atlantic Hub as it presents a unique opportunity to develop the region into a new data centre hub. The geographical positioning of the campuses in Ireland is seen as strategic, leveraging local climatic advantages, access to renewable energy sources, and Northern Ireland's jurisdictional reach across the UK and EU markets, all bolstered by a strong local tech talent pool.
