Ecommpay appoints Roy Blokker to lead European sales push

Yesterday

Ecommpay has appointed Roy Blokker as Head of Strategic Sales as part of its expansion plans across Europe.

Roy Blokker, who joins Ecommpay with 15 years of commercial experience, including more than a decade in payments, will focus on engaging with large, complex, and globally oriented merchants to develop strategic partnerships. The company aims to differentiate itself from other payment providers by working closely with these merchants to craft tailored solutions that maximise payment performance.

The new role will see Blokker working closely with Ecommpay's leadership to design a strong commercial approach for large merchants. His experience includes over eight years at Worldline, where he held strategic global sales and leadership roles. He has particular expertise in localising payment strategies and payment orchestration, supporting large merchants in optimising payment acceptance costs and expanding internationally.

"Following the rebrand and repositioning of the Ecommpay business in late 2024, the appointment of Roy Blokker to lead strategic relationships will further strengthen the Ecommpay proposition. We have a clear ambition to deliver payment solutions to top tier e-commerce and FinTech brands and Roy's wealth of payments experience will be invaluable in building these collaborative partnerships," Arthur Gots, Chief Operating Officer at Ecommpay, said.

"I'm excited to join Ecommpay at this pivotal stage of its growth. With the support of the European board, I'm confident in delivering tailored payment solutions that help e-commerce brands scale, optimise payment acceptance costs, and drive profitability, transforming payments into a strategic growth driver." Roy Blokker said.

The company's strategy is to deliver payment services to tier one e-commerce and FinTech brands. Through Blokker's leadership, the business intends to build on its existing commercial offering for large merchants and further establish its footprint in the European market.

Blokker's remit is expected to address the individual needs of high-growth, internationally focused e-commerce businesses, providing customised offerings in payment orchestration and strategies for entering new markets while streamlining acceptance costs.

Ecommpay recently underwent a rebrand and repositioning in late 2024 as part of its European growth programme, underlining its commitment to strengthening its leadership team to support expansion into new markets and larger merchants.
