Exemplar & Radar Healthcare partnership enhances care
Radar Healthcare and Exemplar Health Care have enhanced their collaboration to improve care quality through technological integration.
Radar Healthcare's platform has allowed Exemplar Health Care to streamline processes and make data-driven decisions, contributing to safer and more positive living environments. The partnership has facilitated the centralisation of key data insights, enabling comprehensive oversight. Interviewed leaders from Exemplar Health Care outlined how the platform's implementation supports evidence-based decisions and fosters a positive reporting culture, greatly enhancing care outcomes and wellbeing.
Mark Henry, Head of Behavioural Support and Mental Health at Exemplar Health Care, stated, "Since implementing Radar Healthcare, we can provide support to the services much faster than before. For example, as a complex care provider, many of the people we support display behaviours of concern. Whereas before, we didn't get central oversight of incidents, we now get real-time alerts and have access to data at our fingertips, so we can respond quicker, analyse trends and make evidence-based decisions. Using the data to reduce these incidents has significantly improved people's quality of life."
The partnership has resulted in significant advancements, including improved quality of life for residents due to immediate reporting, which has allowed for more rapid response and a reduction in severe incidents. This has positively impacted health and wellbeing.
The process of incident reporting and data collection has also been streamlined, with a 64% increase in incidents reported in fiscal year 2024 compared to 2023. The former system, which required multiple paper forms per incident, has been replaced with a simpler process.
Real-time tracking facilitates immediate action, with more than 1 million care interactions monitored annually, resulting in faster responses and improved support. This has contributed to a 50% year-on-year reduction in incidents necessitating physical restraint and a decrease in related injuries.
The partnership has further allowed centralised document management, providing improved access to company policies within a system already integrated across Exemplar Health Care. Frontline staff have reported improvements in incident and complaint reporting processes.
Helen Baxendale, Clinical Director at Exemplar Health Care, noted the transformation from a paper-based system to digital with Radar Healthcare six years ago. She stated, "complaints and compliments, now reported organisation-wide, bring positive affirmations to executive and board meetings."
James Haggarty, Head of Health and Safety, commended the digitisation of health and safety audit processes. He commented, "our health and safety audit objectives have been met and exceeded, with the new system much easier to navigate."
Mark Henry highlighted the benefits of rapid information access, saying, "the biggest benefit is the speed of information. Previously, collating paper records took weeks; now, it's just three clicks."
Jenna Wood, Head of Marketing, explained the selection of Radar Healthcare's Document Management System, stating, "allowing centralised policy management and easy access to the most up-to-date documentation, with clear version control and the ability to track whether colleagues have read and accepted updates."
In reflecting on the initiative, Helen Baxendale remarked, "the investment into Radar Healthcare is totally justified." James Haggarty added, "Radar Healthcare is the platform for a healthcare organisation."
