ExpressVPN introduces secure WiFi at London's Camden estate

Today

ExpressVPN has announced the introduction of secure WiFi at LabTech's Camden estate in London, including the renowned Camden Market, as part of its initiative to enhance public WiFi security in high-traffic venues.

According to the announcement, the deployment of ExpressVPN's services at Camden estate marks the start of a broader strategy to provide safer public WiFi across significant travel venues and events. By integrating its VPN technology over existing internet infrastructure, ExpressVPN aims to offer enhanced cybersecurity measures for visitors who prefer to remain connected while on the move.

Users accessing Camden Market's Wi-Fi will be prompted to a sign-up page to provide basic details before being connected to a secure network protected by ExpressVPN's encryption technology. The company is also offering three complimentary months with an annual subscription to those who sign up for its VPN services during their WiFi session.

Zac Eller, General Manager Global Partnerships at ExpressVPN, commented on the initiative, "We are excited to offer visitors a secure and private browsing experience when they visit London's iconic Camden Estate. Public Wi-Fi is an essential part of modern travel, but it often comes with significant risks. LabTech's commitment to securing its network sends a powerful message that digital safety is a key component of managing a leading tourist destination. This is an important step toward demonstrating that digital security, accessibility, and commercial success go hand-in-hand."

Lauren Hendry Parsons, ExpressVPN's Privacy Advocate, noted the growing risks associated with public Wi-Fi networks. "Cybercrime is always evolving and becoming more sophisticated, and public Wi-Fi is one of the key security risks that the majority of people expose themselves to on a daily basis. This landmark move to integrate ExpressVPN's security features into a high-traffic destination's public WiFi highlights that access to secure, reliable Wi-Fi is no longer a nice-to-have or a perk — it's necessary in today's connected world," she stated.

ExpressVPN has identified that a significant number of users, about 62%, express concerns about monitoring of their online activities while using public Wi-Fi. The partnership with LabTech aims to alleviate these worries by providing secure connectivity options to both tourists and local patrons of Camden Market.

With the implementation of ExpressVPN's service at Camden estate, LabTech is taking substantial steps towards establishing a new standard for secure public connectivity in prominent locations. Visitors looking to ensure their personal data—such as passwords and credit card details—remains protected can rely on ExpressVPN's encryption to guard against potential threats.
