Fortinet launches new G series firewalls with AI features

Fortinet has announced the release of its new FortiGate 70G, FortiGate 50G, and FortiGate 30G series, next-generation firewalls developed to address the needs of modern distributed enterprises.

These advanced firewalls are equipped with Fortinet's proprietary ASIC technology and operate on the unified Fortinet operating system, FortiOS. As enterprises face the challenge of expanding attack surfaces and advanced cyber threats, Fortinet claims their new G series meets these demands, offering heightened security without compromising on performance.

The FortiGate G series aims to offer enterprises cutting-edge security with significant power efficiency. According to Fortinet, the FortiGate 70G provides up to 11 times higher IPsec VPN and seven times higher firewall throughput than the industry average, achieved while consuming substantially less power per Gbps. This power efficiency is a pivotal factor as businesses look to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.

In addition to performance metrics, Fortinet highlights the FortiGuard AI-Powered Security Services, which provide real-time threat detection and response capabilities. These services are specifically designed to counter advanced ransomware, malware, and zero-day exploits. FortiAI, another feature associated with these firewalls, offers automation and actionable insights to enhance cybersecurity operations, including incident analysis and threat remediation.

Fortinet positions its Security Compute Rating as a benchmark when comparing their products to other solutions available in the market. The FortiGate G series figures prominently in these ratings, showcasing its capacity to handle threat protection performance effectively.
