Hexagon Purus enhances supply chain with IFS Cloud integration

Fri, 14th Feb 2025

IFS has announced that Hexagon Purus will implement IFS Cloud to enhance efficiency within its supply chain, covering aspects from material and capacity planning to financial management.

Hexagon Purus has rapidly expanded its operations, establishing seven new manufacturing facilities across three continents over 18 months to meet increasing global demand for hydrogen storage, battery systems technology, and vehicle integration solutions. The company aims to leverage the advanced functionality of IFS Cloud for Industrial AI-driven data insights, which are expected to facilitate faster and more effective supply chain decisions.

Originating from Norway, Hexagon Purus operates in various sectors, including light, medium, and heavy-duty trucking, buses, maritime, rail, aviation, and aerospace. The company's offerings include hydrogen ground storage, distribution, and refuelling. By implementing IFS Cloud, Hexagon Purus seeks to enhance transparency in its supply chain and gain detailed insight into each customer order, significantly improving operational performance.

IFS Cloud is designed to provide Hexagon Purus employees with tailored access to the data necessary for their specific roles through its customisable dashboards. The platform's composability allows Hexagon Purus to maintain its systems with the latest innovations and functionalities without undergoing major upgrades, aiming to reduce costs and improve profitability and competitiveness.

In the longer term, adopting IFS Cloud is expected to assist Hexagon Purus in reaching its digital transformation goals. The company plans to link IFS Cloud with its existing data integration platform to support strategic supply chain decisions, respond swiftly to production output, quality, and capacity changes, and enhance customer experience through increased visibility.

Heiko Chudzick, responsible for operations at Hexagon Purus, voiced his thoughts on the transition: "Our technology and manufacturing expertise is second-to-none and so it was natural that we would move to IFS Cloud as we expand to meet the growing demand for our zero emission mobility solutions. Upgrading to IFS Cloud and utilising its advanced AI capabilities will help us become even more efficient and competitive. This transition is a critical part of our overall digitalisation journey and we're excited to continue working with IFS as we enhance our global supply chain operations to drive a more sustainable planet."

Clemens Mittnacht, Senior Director and Market Unit Leader DACH at IFS, said, "Hexagon Purus' decision to upgrade to IFS Cloud will transform the efficiency, competitiveness, and agility of its fast-expanding global supply chain. As a global leader in using advanced technology to reduce and eliminate harmful emissions from mobility, their expertise is unparalleled. With a shared commitment to innovation, we are proud to collaborate and help Hexagon Purus achieve its digital transformation ambitions, leverage Industrial AI, and increase sustainability worldwide."
