HONOR has expanded its 400 smartphone series with the launch of the HONOR 400 Pro 5G and HONOR 400 5G, bringing AI camera and image editing features to the UK market.

According to HONOR, these new models are designed to appeal to smartphone users interested in photography and advanced artificial intelligence functions. The HONOR 400 Pro 5G is positioned at the forefront of the range, featuring a 200MP AI Super Zoom Camera and a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Both devices also include an 'AI Image to Video' feature, developed in partnership with Google Cloud, enabling users to transform static photos into dynamic videos.

"The HONOR 400 series was imagined with the single aim to make intelligent smartphones more accessible for everyone. We will inspire our smartphone owners to enjoy the many ways that HONOR AI can help them have more fun, be more creative and be rewarded with a more exciting ownership experience," Bond Zhang, Chief Executive Officer of HONOR UK&I, said.

The HONOR 400 Pro 5G's main camera is equipped with a 1/1.4-inch sensor, an f/1.9 aperture, and offers optical as well as electronic image stabilisation alongside a 50X zoom. In addition to the main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide and macro camera with a 112-degree field of view is included, as well as a 50MP portrait selfie camera supported by an advanced portrait algorithm. This combination, according to HONOR, is intended to provide greater image clarity in a range of conditions, including low light.

The company has incorporated several AI-powered editing tools. The device debuts what is described as 'unmatched AI Editing', including the 'AI Image to Video' feature that allows for conversion of images into video. Additional features include an HD Moving Photo mode, the ability to combine multiple moving photos into a collage, and editing functions such as 'AI Eraser', 'AI Outpainting', 'AI Erase passers-by' and 'AI Remove Reflection'.

For sharing purposes, the HONOR 400 Pro 5G introduces the 'Moving Photo Collage' tool which enables the combination and stitching of up to nine moving photos into continuous, dynamic sequences. The device supports live photo sharing across Android and iPhone ecosystems to facilitate easier distribution of content.

The HONOR 400 Pro 5G is powered by the MagicOS 9.0 system and incorporates Google Gemini, Google Lens, and Circle to Search. Users gain access to a suite of AI tools such as 'AI Translation', 'AI Writing Tools', 'AI Summary', 'AI Recorder', 'AI Minutes' and 'AI Subtitles'. These functions aim to extend device utility beyond photography, encompassing productivity and accessibility.

The device includes a 5300mAh silicon-carbon battery, which, according to the manufacturer, supports up to 33 hours of voice calls, 26 hours of offline video viewing, and 15 hours of online video entertainment. The battery is designed to retain 80% health for a minimum of four years or 1,200 recharge cycles. Storage options include up to 512GB ultra-large storage, and charging is supported by 100W Wired SuperCharge, allowing the device to reach 50% charge in 15 minutes.

The 6.7-inch AMOLED display achieves a peak brightness of 5,000 nits in HDR mode. The 'AI Eye Comfort Display' incorporates features such as 'AI Defocus Eyecare', 'Dynamic Dimming', 'AI Circadian Night Display', Ultra Dark Mode, and Low Blue Light, which together are designed to reduce eye fatigue and promote better sleep patterns for users.

Processing power is supplied by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, combined with 12GB of HONOR Turbo RAM. The GPU Turbo X Game Engine is intended to enhance performance for resource-intensive applications and games. The device is constructed with a slim 8.1mm profile and weighs 205 grams. It possesses an SGS Five Star anti-drop certification and holds IP68+IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance.
