Pure Storage has revealed its role in supporting THG, a global e-commerce technology group, in harnessing artificial intelligence innovation, enhancing sustainability, and fostering growth across its worldwide operations.

Utilising Pure Storage's platform, THG Ingenuity enjoys a scalable, high-performance infrastructure spanning 35 data centres globally. This infrastructure ensures uninterrupted operations, particularly during peak periods such as Black Friday.

Through the adoption of Pure Storage's energy-efficient technology, THG has significantly cut data centre power consumption by 80%, demonstrating its commitment to sustainability and aligning with its net-zero carbon emissions target.

The integration of Pure Storage's platform also facilitates THG's AI initiatives, contributing to advancements such as fraud prevention measures which have reduced fraud risk by 90%.

THG Ingenuity faced challenges with legacy data storage systems limiting its ability to expand and test new solutions like AI. The company required cutting-edge infrastructure to support its growth plans and ensure rapid disaster recovery capabilities, while also focusing on energy efficiency goals.

Through Pure Storage's platform, THG Ingenuity now operates a powerful and secure infrastructure that supports its global operations. The platform offers faster performance, seamless failovers between data centres, and enables maintenance and upgrades without downtime.

On the sustainability front, Pure Storage's all-flash, energy-efficient platform has enabled significant progress towards THG's sustainability objectives. The adoption of the Evergreen//One storage as-a-service model allows for efficient scaling of storage provisions, ensuring energy use is minimised when storage arrays are idle.

In terms of AI development, THG is leveraging the capabilities of Pure Storage to create applications aimed at enhancing customer engagement and optimising internal processes.

Data security is also a priority for THG Ingenuity, with measures in place for cyber resiliency through the use of Pure Storage's SafeMode Snapshots for data protection and recovery in the event of cyber incidents.
