Purple Transform partners with The Lister Alliance to revolutionise NHS care
In a notable development, Purple Transform, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) company, has announced a collaboration with The Lister Alliance in a groundbreaking project aimed at significantly improving NHS patient care. The endeavour seeks to integrate AI solutions into health and social care settings, offering promising means of elevating patient safety and health outcomes.
The Lister Alliance, created by technology conglomerate Cisco, aims to modernise the National Health Service (NHS) through the incorporation of state-of-the-art digital solutions. Purple Transform will be bringing its successful AI platform, SiYtE, to the table. It's an innovative technology that utilises real-time data collected from numerous sources like CCTV cameras, sensors and third-party feeds. By recognising patterns in behaviour, SiYtE has the potential to predict risks and prompt appropriate responses.
This proven technology is currently employed to safeguard the UK's railway network, including initiatives aimed at preventing suicides. Trained to identify typical behaviours within a specific environment, any unexpected or potentially risky activities trigger alerts for trained personnel. In a healthcare setting, AI technology can alert medical staff when a vulnerable person leaves their room unexpectedly or flag when a fire exit is blocked, thereby significantly enhancing safety protocols.
Craig Sutton, Client Manager at Purple Transform, who has extensive experience as a paramedic, expressed his anticipation about the move: "We are delighted to be part of The Lister Alliance, which is doing fantastic work demonstrating how digital technologies can improve patient outcomes in the NHS."
"From alerting medical staff when a vulnerable person unexpectedly leaves their room, to notifying facility managers if a fire exit is blocked, our technology has multiple use cases, all of which can improve safety within hospitals and other healthcare settings."
The Lister Alliance, funded by Cisco's Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) initiative, is strategically focused on seamlessly integrating digital technologies across the NHS. Through its health innovation program, the Alliance is creating 'Living Labs' in collaboration with NHS Trusts. These labs will showcase new techniques to provide accessible, efficient, and personalised healthcare services.
Declan Hadley, Program Lead at The Lister Alliance, praised Purple Transform, saying, "Purple Transform is a great example of how AI can be used to improve human outcomes. Its technology has already made a positive difference to people travelling on the railways, so it's exciting to see how this success can be replicated in the NHS to improve patient safety and care outcomes and support the smart hospital of the future."
The partnership between Purple Transform and The Lister Alliance is poised to explore the vast potential of AI in revolutionising the healthcare sector. Already tremendously successful in the railway industry, the extent of this initiative's positive impact on the NHS could be significant, potentially setting new standards for safety measures and patient care.
