THDR unveils Neuono app for AI-driven personalised fashion

Yesterday

Australian technology and fashion group THDR Group has announced the global launch of Neuono, an application that utilises artificial intelligence to deliver custom-made garments with high levels of personalisation.

Introduction to Neuono

Neuono is positioned as an AI-powered app that enables users to create made-to-measure menswear and womenswear through their smartphones, without the need for in-person fittings or shop visits.

The app draws from THDR Group's proprietary generative AI engine, SenseThread, and incorporates foundational AI models from both OpenAI and Google. The system integrates 3D body mapping, styling algorithms, and analyses of user preferences, global fashion trends, social media signals, and even local weather conditions to generate bespoke clothing designs.

According to the company, Neuono can generate up to 70 billion unique combinations of fabrics, linings, threads, and buttons per garment, aiming to address issues of poor fit and overproduction in the fashion sector.

How the app works

Using a smartphone, users scan their body to generate precise measurements. The AI engine then suggests garment styles, fits, and fabrics tailored to the individual. Users can further interact with the AI using natural prompts such as "make it black" or "swap buttons to gold", with the engine refining the design in real time. Once satisfied, the garment is produced on demand and shipped directly to the customer, typically within weeks.

The company asserts that this approach eliminates the need for in-person fittings, making personalised clothing more accessible while aiming to reduce textile waste associated with mass production.

Statement from THDR Group

"We've built Neuono to solve two of fashion's biggest challenges – poor fit and overproduction. By designing everything to order and to fit, we reduce waste and completely reshape the customer experience," says Sean Fagan, Co-Founder and Technology Lead of THDR Group.

He added, "Through this technology, the fashion possibilities become limitless. For a single jacket, Neuono can pull from over 70 billion combinations of fabrics, linings, threads, and buttons. That level of personalisation just hasn't existed in ready-to-wear fashion until now."

"Neuono streamlines the entire process of creating custom clothing, making it easier, faster, and more accessible," he explains.

"We've always believed there had to be a better way to bring made-to-measure into the modern age. So we built one – intuitive enough for anyone to use, powerful enough to deliver high-end results."

Market availability

Neuono is currently available to download in Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States, via both the App Store and Google Play. THDR Group indicated that the average price for a custom garment is AUD $400, with actual prices depending on fabric and design choices.

The company's initial foray into the fashion market began in 2021 with THEODORE, a menswear label built around its PocketTailor AI sizing application. With Neuono's release, THDR Group aims to expand its technological approach to a broader segment, encompassing both menswear and womenswear across a range of styles and use cases.

Neuono's proprietary technology is designed to generate AI-created fashion images and detailed specifications for each unique garment, enabling a made-to-measure experience without the need for physical stores or fittings.

THDR Group states that the blend of generative artificial intelligence, body scanning, and on-demand manufacturing creates a hyper-personalised tailoring process with the objective of minimising inventory waste and improving garment fit for consumers globally.
