Vultr & AMD bring ultra-efficient GPUs to UK market
Vultr has partnered with AMD to introduce a new wave of ultra-efficient GPUs into the UK market, targeted at optimising enterprise workloads.
The collaboration brings AMD Instinct GPUs and the ROCm open software platform to Vultr's cloud infrastructure, aiming to offer enterprises greater scalability, flexibility, and cost-to-performance benefits.
The integration of AMD's MI300X accelerator within Vultr's cloud infrastructure introduces a system designed to manage high-performance AI training and inferencing tasks.
Negin Oliver, corporate vice president of business development at AMD, expressed pride in the partnership, stating, "With the adoption of AMD Instinct MI300X accelerators and ROCm open software for these latest deployments, Vultr's customers will benefit from having a truly optimised system tasked to manage a wide range of AI-intensive workloads."
Vultr's CEO, J.J. Kardwell, highlighted the significance of an open ecosystem in innovation, saying, "The future of enterprise AI workloads is in open environments that allow for flexibility, scalability, and security. AMD accelerators give our customers unparalleled cost-to-performance. The balance of high memory with low power requirements furthers sustainability efforts and gives our customers the capabilities to efficiently drive innovation and growth through AI."
The partnership focuses on enhancing the cloud-native orchestration of AI resources through AMD Instinct accelerators and the ROCm software management tools. These tools are designed to integrate with the Vultr Kubernetes Engine for Cloud GPU, facilitating the operation of intense workloads globally. This approach provides developers with the necessary resources to create sophisticated AI and machine learning solutions for complex business challenges.
Amongst the improvements offered by this collaboration is an enhanced price-to-performance ratio, where Vultr's high-performance cloud compute, powered by AMD GPUs, maintains cost efficiency while processing demanding workloads. The scalable nature of Vultr's infrastructure, together with AMD's advanced processing capabilities, also allows businesses to scale their compute resources seamlessly in response to growing demand.
The partnership is intended to accelerate discovery and innovation within research and development sectors. Vultr's cloud infrastructure is equipped with AMD Instinct GPUs, ROCm open software, and its partner ecosystem, which together provide the computational power and scalability required to address complex problems and achieve faster discovery cycles.
Furthermore, the infrastructure is optimised for AI inference, allowing for reduced latency and higher throughput due to the MI300X GPUs' capacity for scalable, energy-efficient processing of AI models.
Acknowledging the demand for environmentally sustainable solutions, Vultr emphasises the sustainability of its cloud infrastructure. By adopting AMD-efficient AI technologies, it strives to enable energy-efficient computing in large-scale operations.
