Young entrepreneurs launch Echo AI note-taking assistant
Two young British entrepreneurs, Charlie Gray and Ben O'Nion, have launched an AI-powered note-taking assistant called Echo AI, aiming to enhance productivity in the business sector. The duo, who secured a GBP £2 million investment at the age of 19, have designed a digital assistant that can attend meetings and automatically generate transcripts, summaries, and action points.
Echo AI is a smart bot that operates across online meeting platforms, including Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet. It is designed to help individuals and businesses by providing an accurate and comprehensive record of meetings, thus allowing participants to focus on discussions without being sidetracked by note-taking.
Echo AI also allows users to catch up on meetings they could not attend, with records detailing the key decisions and action points. Ben O'Nion remarked, "Echo AI exists to help teams become more efficient, ensuring they stay on track and don't miss outcomes, action points and context in meetings. Productivity can suffer when people lose track of meetings, fail to remember what was said and agreed and are not clear about the actions they are responsible for."
"Echo AI takes all the guesswork out of it, giving everyone an accurate record of the meeting and what was agreed. Businesses which have used Echo AI tell us that it creates time, reduces misunderstandings and slip-ups and helps keep teams focused on tasks."
The tool is optimised for UK businesses, incorporating regional language contexts, grammar, and a commitment to full General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance. Data is stored within the UK and Northern Ireland, and businesses retain control over data usage and storage. Furthermore, businesses can personalise the service with their own branding.
Echo AI, backed by tech investment firm Ridown Group, underwent beta testing and trials with businesses including Vodafone, Starbucks UK, Gamma, and JCB. It is now available for general use, with pricing starting at GBP £19.95 per month for an individual user and GBP £24.95 per month for up to 250 users in a Business account. Enterprise customers can enquire for custom pricing, and a seven-day trial is available for Pro and Business accounts.
Aaron Brown, Co-founder of Ridown Group, commented, "Ben and Charlie are incredibly impressive young entrepreneurs who have developed an outstanding product in Echo AI. We have made a significant investment in them because we believe Echo AI is a game changer – an example of how the power of AI can be used for good, freeing up teams to focus on the tasks that matter while keeping projects on track and ensuring full compliance, accountability, and data security."
"We are proud to launch Echo AI and excited to be with Ben and Charlie on this journey as we establish the product as a must-have for successful and productive businesses."
Founded by Charlie Gray and Ben O'Nion, OneHive, the company behind Echo AI, focuses on developing smart digital solutions to boost productivity for businesses and individuals. Their entrepreneurial journey began at the age of 13 with various ventures, and they garnered attention following their success at a young entrepreneurs' competition, leading to significant investment from Ridown.
