Zayo Europe delivers 100G network for GNM from Marseille to Amsterdam

Yesterday

Zayo Europe has delivered a 100G Wavelength network for infrastructure provider GNM across Europe in five working days.

The network, constructed using Zayo Europe's 800G-ready infrastructure, provides a low-latency and highly reliable route for long-haul optical connectivity. The deployment was completed between Marseille and Amsterdam within five working days, which is described by the companies as a rapid turnaround for this type of long-distance network build.

This new network route enhances GNM's European backbone, supporting its services to a range of international clients. GNM's client portfolio includes firms such as Google, Vodafone, Telegram, and Roblox, all of whom rely on a stable and secure digital infrastructure across the continent for their operations.

The partnership between Zayo Europe and GNM is intended to provide a broader set of connectivity options for businesses and data centres located outside of the traditional major connectivity hubs on the continent, supporting a more diverse Pan-European connectivity landscape.

Alex Surkov, Head of Development at GNM, commented on the project: "Our focus is on constantly improving the diversity of our networks for our Pan-European client-base. This is exactly what this project with Zayo Europe does.. Since our networks operate in different regions, we see strong potential to complement each other's coverage and will work closely to explore collaboration opportunities that bring value to both companies and our clients.

"Zayo Europe is also known for its excellent customer service, which speaks directly to our ethos. Knowing that the team is prepared to go above and beyond to ensure the highest level of performance was another key reason we selected the firm to drive our ongoing expansion."

The network expansion comes amid increasing demand for bandwidth and low-latency connectivity in response to the growth of artificial intelligence applications and ongoing developments toward advanced mobile technologies.

Colman Deegan, Chief Executive Officer of Zayo Europe, said: "With the constant increase in bandwidth required to power the AI revolution and the move towards 6G, providing low latency, high-speed networks to securely share data has arguably never been more important. This is why we're so open to working collaboratively with our peers to ensure the highest quality connectivity across the continent.

"That GNM turned to us to deliver a 100G Wavelength route from Marseille to Amsterdam to drive connectivity for its vast client-base, is testament to the work that's been put in by the Zayo Europe team over the years. We're already in talks with the GNM team on future collaborative projects and look forward to where the future takes us."

The collaboration between Zayo Europe and GNM is expected to strengthen both companies' positions in the European wholesale connectivity market, offering enhanced coverage and reliability for international customers with evolving bandwidth requirements.
