Alteryx extends McLaren data deal into WEC Hypercar

Thu, 15th Jan 2026

Alteryx has expanded its relationship with McLaren Racing and joined the McLaren United AS Team as an Official Partner, with branding set to appear on McLaren's FIA World Endurance Championship Hypercars from 2027.

The arrangement extends Alteryx's involvement beyond Formula 1 into additional motorsport categories. It also places the data and analytics firm alongside McLaren's founding partners for its World Endurance Championship programme.

WEC Expansion

McLaren plans to compete in the Hypercar category of the FIA World Endurance Championship. The series runs endurance races that last from six to 24 hours. Teams manage multiple driver changes and make tactical decisions during long stints.

McLaren's move adds another front-running category to its racing portfolio. The team competes in Formula 1 and has links to IndyCar's Indianapolis 500 through its wider Triple Crown campaign. McLaren also has history at the 24 Hour of Le Mans, where it won on its event debut in 1995.

For Alteryx, the updated partnership increases visibility in one of the most watched endurance racing series. It also creates a platform for the company's association with data-led decision making in a category known for strategy and operational discipline.

Brand Placement

Alteryx branding will feature prominently on McLaren's WEC Hypercars from 2027. McLaren and Alteryx said they will unveil all founding partners at the same time. The approach puts emphasis on the group of commercial and technical relationships behind the programme.

Data Focus

McLaren and Alteryx framed the partnership around analytics and operational insight. Endurance racing places weight on reliability and consistency across long distances. It also demands fast decisions based on live information from the car and the trackside operation.

"McLaren has built an extraordinary data ecosystem from the ground up. Today, nearly every process relies on real-time data. Whether it's a race car or on the factory floor, decisions have to happen in the moment. We're looking forward to continuing our partnership with McLaren, the reigning F1 Constructors' Champions, as they push the boundaries of performance. What they are doing reflects a broader trend across industries: technology alone isn't enough. It's the combination of the right tools with a culture of speed, adaptability, and collaboration that creates a true competitive advantage," said Andy MacMillan, Chief Executive Officer, Alteryx.

McLaren has used commercial partnerships in Formula 1 as a route for technology suppliers and data firms to demonstrate products and services. The team has also increased its emphasis on data handling and rapid decision-making as the sport has grown more reliant on simulation, telemetry and operational planning.

"We've built a fantastic partnership with Alteryx in Formula 1, and we're delighted to expand that collaboration into the World Endurance Championship. Their expertise in data and analytics will play a key role as we take on this exciting new challenge," said Matt Dennington, Co-Chief Commercial Officer, McLaren Racing.

The partnership expansion comes as more technology companies seek global sports platforms beyond Formula 1. The World Endurance Championship has gained attention in recent seasons as manufacturers and teams have entered the Hypercar class. The category has become a focal point for brand exposure and for engineering and operational comparisons across programmes.

McLaren's Hypercar entry adds a further high-profile name to the endurance grid. The team will run long-distance events that test car durability and the effectiveness of pit strategy. The programme will also put emphasis on consistent execution across engineers, mechanics and drivers over extended race windows.

Alteryx said it has more than 8,000 customers globally. Its software focuses on data preparation and analytics workflows. The firm said McLaren's programme relies on real-time data and on decisions taken during races and in the factory environment.

The partners said the expanded relationship will run across McLaren's World Endurance Championship programme as it prepares for the Hypercar category and the Le Mans event within the series calendar.
