Cherry has launched the K37ID industrial keyboard, aimed at businesses working in space-constrained industrial settings.

The new model has a 99-key layout and an IP54 rating for protection against dust and water splashes. It is intended for use at packing stations, production lines and logistics hubs, where desk and work-surface space is often limited.

The K37ID connects via USB-A and uses rubber dome technology. Additional key functions are available through an FN layer, helping the compact design retain features usually found on larger keyboards.

Cherry has set the recommended retail price at GBP £34.99, positioning the device as an option for businesses fitting out either single workstations or larger numbers of desks.

Industrial focus

The launch expands Cherry's industrial range as manufacturers and warehouse operators continue to look for equipment that can withstand dust, moisture and frequent daily use. In these environments, peripheral devices often face heavier wear than standard office hardware.

Cherry says the K37ID is designed to reduce the need for frequent replacements in these conditions. Its construction is intended to help businesses avoid disruption caused by damaged keyboards in operational areas.

The keyboard was designed and engineered in Europe. Cherry says the combination of environmental protection and lower pricing is intended to make this type of device more accessible to smaller businesses, which have often relied on standard office keyboards instead of industrial models.

Pricing pressure

That pricing may be central to the product's market position. Industrial keyboards can carry a premium over mainstream office peripherals, particularly when companies need to buy in volume across warehouses, assembly areas or logistics sites.

Cherry says the K37ID offers a lower-cost route for organisations seeking more durable equipment across multiple workstations. It also points to the device's small footprint as a benefit for employers trying to organise crowded work areas more efficiently.

"The K37ID combines the features businesses need most: full-size functionality in a compact design, IP54 protection against dust and splashes and great value for money," said Gunnar Schreck, Head of Product Management at Cherry.

"It's a smart investment for businesses, with benefits at every workstation and even greater value when equipping multiple workstations," Schreck added.

Cherry makes keyboards, mice, microphones and headsets for office, gaming and industrial use, alongside hardware and software for digital healthcare. The group was founded in 1953 and operates from Germany, with production, logistics, development and sales sites across Europe, Asia and the United States.

The K37ID is available now at an MSRP of GBP £34.99.
