Cloudhouse launches IT change visibility score tool
Tue, 20th Oct 2026 (Today)
Cloudhouse has launched an IT Change Visibility Score assessment for enterprises. The free tool gives IT leaders a score out of 100 on how well they can track changes across their technology estates.
The assessment takes about two minutes to complete. It uses 10 questions to measure how quickly teams can identify configuration changes, whether they can distinguish expected activity from unexpected activity, how much visibility they have across different environments, and what evidence they can access when they need to investigate a change.
The tool is aimed at IT, security and change management leaders who may already have formal approval processes for changes but still lack a clear view of what has happened across infrastructure, applications and devices.
That gap matters because configuration changes now happen continuously across complex estates, particularly in cloud environments. Without clear visibility, organisations can struggle to distinguish approved activity from configuration drift, investigate incidents, and confirm that systems remain in their intended state.
Visibility gap
The launch highlights a broader issue for large organisations as estates become more distributed across on-premise systems, cloud services and end-user devices. Approval workflows can show that a change was requested and signed off, but they do not always provide evidence of the exact change made, where it happened, or whether the final result matched the original plan.
The new assessment provides a personalised score, a breakdown of results and recommended priorities. It is intended to help organisations identify where they already have strong oversight and where blind spots remain in their change controls.
Jonathan Dedman, Director, Cloudhouse, said: "Most organisations have processes for approving change, but that is only one side of the equation. You also need to know what actually happened across the estate and whether it matched what you expected. As environments become more complex, establishing that manually becomes much harder."
He said the assessment was designed as a quick benchmark rather than a full audit of an organisation's controls.
Dedman added: "The IT Change Visibility Score gives teams a straightforward way to understand how much visibility they have today and where they could strengthen it. It's about helping organisations get ahead of potential blind spots, rather than discovering them when they're trying to investigate an incident or establish what changed."
Broader offering
Cloudhouse is also using the assessment as an entry point to its wider change monitoring products. After completing the questionnaire, organisations receive recommendations that can help them decide whether they need more continuous oversight of configuration change across their estates.
Its Guardian Essentials product is intended for organisations that want to move beyond a point-in-time assessment to ongoing monitoring. Cloudhouse says the service helps teams identify configuration drift, compare actual changes with expected changes, and maintain a record of change over time.
Cloudhouse, which is headquartered in London, has operated since 2010. It says its technology has been used in legacy application modernisation, workload migration and estate control, and it lists customers including National Grid, Royal Mail, NASA, NYSE and Ascensus.
The company also says its technology formed the original basis of AWS's End-of-Support Migration Programme for Windows Server, and that it was ranked 13th in the Deloitte UK Technology Fast 50.
The new assessment gives enterprises a simple benchmark for a narrow but persistent operational problem: knowing not just which IT changes were approved, but which ones actually took place.
