ControlUp has announced the appointment of Mark Schwartz as the company's new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Schwartz, who brings nearly three decades of experience in technology leadership, is set to oversee ControlUp's global operations. This change aims to support the company's ambitions for growth, global expansion, and leadership in the Digital Employee Experience (DEX) sector.

Jed Ayres, CEO of ControlUp, expressed enthusiasm about Schwartz joining the team at such a pivotal period for the company. "We are thrilled to welcome Mark to ControlUp at such an exciting time for the company," Ayres stated. "Mark's proven track record in leading companies from start-up to global scale, coupled with his deep expertise in operational strategy and finance, including taking two companies public, will be instrumental in guiding ControlUp through its next phase of growth."

Schwartz's career includes significant achievements, such as co-founding Fabrinet, a fibre optic and photonics technology company, which he led to a public offering and a revenue increase to over USD $1 billion. He has also served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Markforged, taking the 3D printing company public in 2021. His experience spans various roles and industries, focusing on scaling operations, managing global teams, and guiding strategic acquisitions.

The appointment marks a strategic move for ControlUp in their effort to enhance operational efficiency and re-affirm their industry leadership. Schwartz commented on his new role, stating, "I'm excited to join the great team at ControlUp and focus on driving the operational excellence needed to scale the company and solidify its leadership in the exploding DEX space."

As Schwartz takes on his new responsibilities, Yoni Avital, Co-Founder of ControlUp, will transition to the role of Chief Evangelist. Within his remit, Schwartz will directly report to Ayres and oversee the company's finance, HR, legal, and IT teams. The company also announced concurrent promotions within its leadership team, with Danny Smid stepping into the role of CFO and Dana Eisen advancing to Senior Vice President of Human Resources.

ControlUp is looking to leverage Schwartz's extensive expertise, which includes finance, legal, IT, HR, and corporate governance, along with experience in cross-border transactions and public offerings. Holding a Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law, Schwartz is positioned to drive operational strategies that support productivity and efficiency.

Schwartz highlighted the importance of streamlining processes and focusing on execution to achieve rapid growth and long-term success for ControlUp. He added, "My priority will be to enhance the efficiency and agility of our operations, ensuring we continue to innovate and deliver solutions that drive productivity gains for tech professionals and employees everywhere."

ControlUp continues to expand its influence in the DEX market by replacing complex legacy products with solutions that offer unprecedented real-time visibility and productivity. The company aims to stand out with innovations at the intersection of physical endpoints, virtual desktops, applications, endpoint security, and help desk solutions.
