Delinea names Scott Goree to lead global partner strategy
Delinea has appointed Scott Goree as Senior Vice President of Channel and Alliances, putting the former Optiv and Skyhigh Security executive in charge of its global partner strategy.
He will lead work on a new partner programme and oversee Delinea's broader channel and alliances strategy. His remit includes expanding the company's ecosystem and increasing partner-led sales in international markets.
The appointment comes as identity security suppliers seek deeper ties with resellers, service providers and strategic allies, as customers buy and deploy security tools through a wider mix of channels. Goree will focus on creating a more unified partner model aligned with current customer purchasing and deployment patterns.
His priorities include partner enablement, simpler engagement processes and support for customers updating privileged access controls, managing cloud entitlements and reducing identity-based risk.
Career background
Before joining Delinea, Goree was Senior Vice President of Partners and Commercial Sales at Optiv, where he worked on channel strategy and partner-led revenue growth. Earlier, he was the first global channel chief at Skyhigh Security, leading changes to the partner programme and increasing channel-sourced revenue.
He has also held senior channel leadership roles at Nutanix, Pure Storage and Cisco, bringing two decades of experience in partner ecosystem development across the security and infrastructure sectors.
Strategy shift
Delinea is presenting the hire as part of a broader push to strengthen routes to market for identity security products as organisations deal with more complex IT estates. Demand in the sector has been shaped by the spread of cloud services, hybrid working environments and the growing use of artificial intelligence systems, which increase the number and types of identities that need to be controlled.
Chris Kelly, President at Delinea, linked the appointment to those wider shifts in customer demand.
"Identity security has become a board-level priority for organisations navigating cloud, hybrid, and AI-driven environments," said Chris Kelly, President, Delinea. "Partners are essential to helping customers modernise securely and deliver measurable outcomes."
"Scott has a proven track record of building strong partner ecosystems and driving growth," said Kelly. "His leadership will be instrumental as we scale our partner strategy for the AI era."
Delinea sells identity security tools designed to manage access across human, machine and AI identities in on-premises, cloud and mixed computing environments. It describes its offering as a control layer for access management, with a focus on least-privilege access and reducing standing privileges.
The market has become increasingly competitive as cyber security vendors respond to risks linked to overprovisioned accounts, privileged access misuse and the spread of automated identities created by software workloads and AI applications. At the same time, vendors have had to adjust their sales models as customers rely more heavily on channel partners and advisory firms to integrate security tools into broader technology estates.
Partner role
For Delinea, the emphasis on alliances suggests it wants to expand both reseller relationships and strategic partnerships. A broader ecosystem can help vendors reach customers through managed service providers, systems integrators and consultancies that often influence cyber security buying decisions.
Goree said those trusted intermediaries will remain central to the sales approach.
"Customers are looking for trusted advisors who understand their environments and can deliver results," said Scott Goree, Senior Vice President of Channel and Alliances, Delinea. "I'm excited to work with our partners to build a program that supports long-term growth, accelerates time to value, and helps organisations adopt modern identity security with confidence."
Goree has also received industry recognition, including CRN Channel Chief and Top 50 Channel Influencer by Channel Futures.
