EASI launches 2026 social impact awards for UK founders
EASI, the Entrepreneurs' Award in Social Innovation, has opened applications for its 2026 programme. It offers a GBP £10,000 grant and a 12-month business support package for early-stage founders with social or environmental missions.
The award targets UK-based entrepreneurs working on ventures that address issues such as climate resilience, sustainability, inequality, safety, healthcare and inclusive technology. Organisers position the scheme as a way for founders to combine financial backing with structured advice and access to business networks.
EASI runs in conjunction with the Worshipful Company of Entrepreneurs and its associated trust. The trust provides the grant for the winning venture, while the Worshipful Company of Entrepreneurs delivers the year-long support package.
Now in its fifth year, EASI has previously supported ventures across food systems, mental health, education and clean energy.
What winners get
The 2026 winner receives GBP £10,000 from the Worshipful Company of Entrepreneurs Trust, plus a 12-month programme that includes feedback from judges, a dedicated mentor, and access to a network of entrepreneurs and business leaders.
The support package also includes masterclasses and guidance sessions, along with introductions to potential partners, funders and collaborators. Finalists will also have an opportunity to take part in an EASI26 showcase.
All finalists will be invited to join the EASI26 cohort and will receive the 12-month business support package. This structure keeps the cash grant to a single winner while extending advisory support to a wider group of shortlisted ventures.
Founder Focus
Judy Hadden, Past Master Entrepreneur and EASI Founder, said the award is aimed at founders in the early stages of building their organisations.
"EASI backs early stage founders who are building solutions the world genuinely needs. The combination of funding and business support, mentorship and access to our network, is designed to enable early-stage entrepreneurs to accelerate their impact and strengthen the foundations of their business. If you believe you fit this description, we really want to hear from you, please apply for EASI26," said Hadden.
The award is open to applicants who can demonstrate a clear mission, evidence of market research and a credible pathway to sustainable impact. It is also aimed at entrepreneurs with solutions described as innovative and scalable.
Last year's winner
The EASI25 winner was Carbon Cell, which is developing alternatives to expanded polystyrene used in packaging. It has created a biochar-based foam and describes the material as carbon-negative, structurally strong and mouldable. The venture is targeting uses in insulation, acoustic panels and fabrication foams.
Eden Harrison, Carbon Cell Co-Founder, said the award's funding and network had practical effects on development and outreach.
"The EASI £10K grant significantly widened our manufacturing scope, from 'microwave' experiments to industrially relevant heat press tooling - unlocking trials with European manufacturing partners. Mentoring with Paul Eveleigh has been the single most valuable part of the programme, along with introductions to potential funders through the programme's networking events," said Harrison.
The reference to manufacturing trials highlights a common challenge for early-stage ventures. Many founders struggle to move from prototyping to initial production and market engagement, particularly in sectors such as materials, clean technology and health, where test environments and supply chains can be expensive or difficult to access.
Application process
Applications for EASI26 are open until the end of March. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to pitch at the EASI26 final at The Skyline London in May.
The winner will be announced on the night. The award will be presented later in the year at an award presentation and dinner at Tallow Chandlers' Hall.
