Ecommpay shortlisted for three Women in Tech Employer Awards
Ecommpay has been named as a finalist in three categories at the 2025 Women in Tech Employer Awards, recognising its ongoing initiatives to promote inclusivity and diversity in the technology sector.
The global payments platform is in the running for honours in three distinct areas of the awards. These include two individuals from its leadership team: Chief Compliance Officer and UK Chair Willem Wellinghoff, nominated for Outstanding Advocate for Women in Tech – Male Ally, and Chief Marketing Officer Miranda McLean, shortlisted for Outstanding Advocate for Women in Tech. Additionally, the company's overhaul of its website and payments platform has been selected as a finalist for Best Initiative of the Year by a panel of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) experts.
Website accessibility
The recent updates to Ecommpay's website and payments platform focused particularly on enhancing accessibility, with the aim of making digital financial services more available to a wider range of users. Judges cited this work as a key factor in the company's selection for Best Initiative of the Year.
According to the company, these efforts are part of a broader mission to advance financial inclusivity by providing services and products that are accessible to all, regardless of background or ability. The platform's improvements have sought to remove barriers and simplify processes for both existing clients and end-users globally.
Individual recognition
Two members of Ecommpay's leadership have been recognised for their ongoing advocacy of women in technology. Willem Wellinghoff was shortlisted in the Male Ally category, which aims to honour men who proactively support gender diversity and women's advancement in the industry. Miranda McLean was listed as a finalist for her work as an advocate, further highlighting the company's focus on leadership-driven inclusion initiatives.
"Ecommpay is on a mission to achieve financial inclusivity for all, a momentous change that requires significant investment that relies on commitment from the very top. Our entire leadership team is focused on increasing inclusivity by making our services, and those of our clients, accessible to anyone. We are therefore extremely proud to have been recognised by Women in Tech and look forward to celebrating the achievements with other EDI-focused businesses at the ceremony," commented Miranda McLean, Chief Marketing Officer, Ecommpay.
The awards selection process relied on review by specialist judges with backgrounds in equity, diversity and inclusion, who assessed nominations based on evidence of impact, leadership engagement and positive contribution to workplace culture.
Upcoming awards event
The winners in each category will be announced at an evening ceremony scheduled to take place at the London Hilton Park Lane, featuring a formal dinner and drinks reception.
The Women in Tech Employer Awards are designed to recognise employers and individuals making substantial contributions to advancing gender diversity, inclusion and representation in the technology sector. Several businesses are expected to be honoured for their internal policies and external impact, as well as for individual leadership.
Ecommpay's nominations reflect the company's stated commitment to ongoing investment in staff training, technology accessibility and industry engagement, according to statements from company leadership. The recognition comes at a time when greater accessibility in digital payments and fintech services is a focus across the sector.
