Gartner names Cato Networks as Leader in 2024 SASE Quadrant

Thu, 11th Jul 2024

Gartner has recognised Cato Networks as a Leader in the 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Single-Vendor SASE. The Tel Aviv-based company continues to make significant strides in the enterprise security market with its Cato SASE Cloud Platform.

Shlomo Kramer, co-founder and CEO of Cato Networks, stated, "Cato's true SASE platform is the antidote to IT complexity that persists in the face of ongoing so-called platformization efforts. Cato pioneered the SASE market and is shaping its future with best-in-class customer experience and a train of innovations that deliver on SASE's promise."

The Cato SASE Cloud Platform was designed to simplify IT tasks, consolidating them into a single platform. This includes the extension, upgrading, patching, and scaling of security infrastructure, while maintaining high levels of resiliency and availability. Kramer highlighted the challenges faced by competitors, noting, "Platformization is a portfolio approach to SASE and attempts to integrate multiple acquired products with differing code bases, form factors, policy engines, and data lakes into a single platform – an impossible task that is apparent to anyone familiar with the two approaches."

The recognition from Gartner is in line with customer feedback. As of 3 July 2024, the Cato SASE Cloud Platform held an overall rating of 4.7 out of 5 on Gartner Peer Insights for single-vendor SASE, with 183 verified reviews. This rating was significantly higher than any other Leader in the single-vendor SASE Magic Quadrant.

Gartner defines single-vendor secure access service edge (SASE) offerings as integrating multiple network and security-as-a-service capabilities, such as software-defined WAN, secure web gateway, cloud access security broker, network firewalling, and zero trust network access, all delivered via a cloud-centric architecture by a single vendor. The Cato SASE Cloud Platform seeks to extend this functionality further.

Cato Networks has expanded the scope of single-vendor SASE to encompass more comprehensive security and networking capabilities. The platform includes SASE-managed endpoint protection (EPP/EDR) and SASE-based extended detection and response (XDR), touted as the first AI-driven network and security incident detection and response platform. The company also owns and manages a global cloud network to ensure exceptional performance and security for enterprises worldwide.

According to the company, Cato Networks' continued innovations within the SASE market underline its leadership in simplifying and securing enterprise IT operations. The recognition from Gartner validates the company’s efforts to provide an integrated solution that meets the complex demands of modern IT infrastructure.
