HONOR Magic V5 early sales surge 119% in UK & 75% in Europe

Fri, 5th Sep 2025

HONOR has reported a significant increase in early sales for its new Magic V5 smartphone across the UK and Europe.

According to HONOR, customer purchases of the Magic V5 in the UK rose by 119% compared to those of its predecessor, the Magic V3, during the device's first week of sales. Across Western Europe, sales were up by 75% for the same period. The company attributes this growth to consumer interest in foldable smartphone technology and AI features offered by the Magic V5.

E-commerce platforms and channel partners have reported noticeable growth in customer demand for the device since its recent debut. Data from Counterpoint also indicated that HONOR's market share as a manufacturer of book-type foldables has reached 34% in Europe in 2024, marking it as the fastest-growing company in this sector, according to the same report.

"The HONOR Magic V5, with industry-leading slimness and revolutionary AI features, is truly a game changer. We are delighted to see that customers across Western Europe are excited to get their hands on our latest foldable smartphone. This early sales momentum not only highlights the HONOR Magic V5's far- reaching appeal but also signals a strong market appetite for advanced, AI-powered foldable smartphones," said Adam Cao, President of HONOR Western Europe.

The Magic V5 has been positioned as a book-style foldable smartphone with a thickness that the company describes as the thinnest of its type globally. HONOR notes that the design brings together elements of portability and durability, with the device receiving both an IP58 and IP59 rating for dust and water resistance. Durability claims have also been supported by a Guinness World Record for the heaviest weight lifted by a suspended foldable smartphone.

The device is equipped with a 5,820mAh silicon–carbon battery, which is among the larger capacities for smartphones of this type. In terms of imaging, the Magic V5 features HONOR's AI Falcon Camera System, including a 64MP Ultra Sensing Periscope Telephoto lens. The phone has both a 7.95-inch inner display and a 6.43-inch outer display, both supporting stylus input.

For users seeking multitasking capability, the Magic V5 supports Multi-Flex mode, which allows operation of up to three applications simultaneously. The device's artificial intelligence integration underpins both performance and camera features, according to the company.

Promotional offers

HONOR has stated that for a limited period, UK customers who upgrade to the Magic V5 through major mobile networks and retailers - including EE, O2, Three, Vodafone, Tesco Mobile, Currys, Carphone Warehouse, Argos, Amazon, Very, and AO - can claim a free gift pack valued at GBP £400. This offer includes HONOR Earbuds Open, HONOR Magic Pen, HONOR Choice Watch 2i, and a HONOR 66W Wireless Charger.

Additionally, customers purchasing through HONOR's UK online store can obtain a GBP £300 discount voucher and gifts with a combined value of GBP £254, covering 12 months of screen protection, a HONOR Magic Pen, and a HONOR SuperCharge power adaptor.

The company has not disclosed exact sales figures for the Magic V5 but has emphasised the year-on-year percentage increase as a key indicator of the device's market reception compared with previous generation models.

The broader market for foldable smartphones in Europe has experienced sustained growth over the past year, as manufacturers continue to develop devices with enhanced features, increased durability, and expanded software capabilities leveraging artificial intelligence. HONOR's results suggest an intensifying competition as other manufacturers introduce their own foldable models and promotional offers in the coming quarters.
