Inevidesk unveils updates to improve VDI accessibility

Yesterday

Inevidesk has introduced updates to its Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) product suite as it aims to provide more accessible and scalable virtual desktop solutions for organisations and managed service providers.

The new updates include GPU-less virtual desktops and Intel Flex GPU options, broadening Inevidesk's offerings beyond industries traditionally requiring high graphical capacity. This expansion now allows Inevidesk to support a diverse array of sectors by accommodating typical business applications in addition to graphics-intensive industries like architecture and visual effects.

GPU-less virtual desktops are intended for knowledge workers reliant on standard office applications, whereas the Intel Flex GPUs enable multiple virtual desktops to operate from a single card when minimal GPU resources are sufficient. These enhancements facilitate a higher density of virtual desktops on servers whether they are based in offices, data centres, or supported through Inevidesk's hosting services.

Inevidesk has also revamped its licensing model by shifting from annual to monthly billing. This adjustment is designed to provide increased flexibility, greater transparency, and ease in billing, thereby making the services more manageable for businesses of varying sizes.

The updates further remove hardware constraints from Inevidesk's Flexidesk service. This one-at-a-time virtual desktop scaling service now no longer enforces a minimum hardware purchase requirement, enabling seamless and incremental expansion for hosted customers.

Mark Adams, Co-Founder at Inevidesk, stated, "Our goal has always been to give organisations and MSPs a superior and more accessible alternative to legacy VDI such as VMware and big tech public cloud vendors. With the introduction of GPU-less vdesks, Intel Flex GPUs and a new monthly licensing model, we're ensuring that even more businesses can benefit from VDI that's affordable, highly performant and tailored to their specific requirements. We believe our approach is now more critical than ever as more organisations look to digital transformation but are losing confidence in legacy VDI players and the public cloud which are both becoming increasingly expensive and problematic."
