Ingram Micro promotes Sanjib Sahoo to lead global platform
Ingram Micro has announced the promotion of Sanjib Sahoo to President of its Global Platform Group, marking a significant step in the company's mission to reshape the B2B customer experience.
Appointed to this global leadership position, Sahoo will be at the forefront of developing Ingram Micro's Xvantage platform, aimed at enhancing customer interactions within the global technology ecosystem. The platform is a B2B technology model that offers a digital twin to simplify work processes for customers and vendors, potentially increasing value creation.
Paul Bay, Chief Executive Officer of Ingram Micro, expressed his confidence in Sahoo's capabilities, saying, "Ingram Micro has built upon its decades of experience to become a disruptive leader and digital force in the global technology industry. I'm pleased to announce the appointment of Sanjib as President of our Global Platform Group. A proven business strategist and digital innovator, Sanjib's expanded leadership and dedicated team will better support and accelerate our vision of becoming a platform company that will reinvent the B2B customer experience through Xvantage."
Sahoo, who joined the company in 2021, previously served as Executive Vice President, Global Technology and Chief Digital Officer. During his tenure, he notably shaped the vision and implemented the roadmap for the Xvantage platform, renowned for its AI-driven capabilities that facilitate real-time interactions and reduce friction in B2B transactions.
Reflecting on his new role, Sahoo stated, "I'm honored to lead our efforts to move towards a platform-first model and transform Ingram Micro from distributor to platform ecosystem company. Xvantage is helping our customers and vendors to work faster, smarter, and with more intention. I'm excited to lead, collaborate, inspire, and take action to enhance and expand Ingram Micro's growing impact on our customers, vendors, and the industry through our AI-driven digital experience platform Xvantage."
The development of Xvantage, a platform boasting approximately 29 million lines of code, 20 intelligent engines, and 30 pending patents, is a key element in transitioning the tech industry toward more interactive business intelligence applications, now operational in 16 countries.
Bill Blum, President of Alpine Business Systems and U.S. Co-President of Trust X Alliance, commented on the platform's impact, saying, "The introduction of Xvantage has changed how we work and how we think about the future of our company and the experience we want to create and innovate around for our team and our customers. The combined leadership of Bay and Sahoo is inspiring and impactful. Congrats to Sanjib and Ingram Micro and the continued advancement and adoption of Xvantage."
As part of the platform's development, Ingram Micro is working to automate various processes across cloud, hardware, and service transactions. The innovations include end-to-end automation and AI-driven business insights, alongside a native mobile app for users to engage with the platform in real-time anywhere.
At the 2024 Ingram Micro ONE Innovation Summit, HP's Vice President of Global Channel Partner Sales praised the transformative influence of Xvantage, noting its role in "disrupting distribution at its core."
Sahoo's leadership sees him overseeing not only the platform's strategy but also collaboration with Ingram Micro's regional executives to stimulate growth through Xvantage. The platform seeks to ease interactions across the IT channel, supported by strategic partnerships such as the recently announced collaboration with AWS.
Paul Bay highlighted future ambitions, concluding, "With the combined power of our people and our Xvantage platform, we will distribute even greater success at scale for our growing ecosystem of customers, vendors, and alliances."
