iplicit & Cin7 partner to offer cloud solution for UK SMEs

Today

iplicit and Cin7 have announced a new partnership aimed at providing integrated cloud accounting and inventory management solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the wholesale and distribution midmarket sector in the UK.

The collaboration intends to deliver a unified platform allowing SMEs to manage their accounting and inventory needs simultaneously through a true-cloud solution. The approach targets businesses that, according to recent figures, accounted for 34% of SME turnover in 2024, and have traditionally not had access to advanced, cost-effective cloud alternatives for their finance and inventory requirements.

Existing inventory and finance solutions are described by both companies as lacking either in terms of functionality, cost efficiency, or cloud readiness, while many remain on-premises and are not designed for the complex modern needs of midmarket businesses. Entry-level solutions also fail to address the growing demand for integrated and agile operations, prompting the need for alternatives that can support sector-specific requirements.

iplicit has developed a connector for Cin7 as part of its wider cloud accounting suite, offering users in the UK and Ireland enhanced inventory management capabilities directly linked to their financial operations. The decision to partner with Cin7 follows what iplicit describes as a "thorough review of the market," and is based on Cin7's ability to provide features beyond basic inventory management.

Cin7 is a cloud-based platform offering inventory, point-of-sale, eCommerce, and warehouse management, designed to integrate with accounting, shipping, and marketplace services. According to the company, Cin7 currently supports more than 8,500 businesses worldwide and secured $500 million investment from Rubicon Technology Partners in November 2024 to accelerate its growth.

Channel resellers

The new integration will be made primarily available to iplicit's network of channel resellers and implementation partners, following the company's launch of a Channel Reseller Programme in 2024. Through its partners and with support from tech investor One Peak, iplicit says it identified a significant shortfall of suitable solutions for fast-growing wholesale, retail, and distribution organisations aiming to modernise their systems.

The partnership is designed to enable channel partners to deliver a joined-up solution for clients seeking improved insight, operational control, and a transition from legacy platforms to cloud-based systems. The specialist integration is scheduled for rollout in the coming months.

Steve Fewster, Director at Tick9, an iplicit partner, commented on the broader mission of supporting digital transformation in the sector, adding:

""Our strategic alignment with iplicit and Cin7 reflects our belief that wholesale and distribution SMEs deserve more than disconnected tools or outdated systems. By combining iplicit's modern finance engine with Cin7's intelligent inventory and supply chain capabilities, we will enable our clients to unlock real operational agility. We believe this is more than integration, it's an intentional step towards more connected, insight-driven businesses in the midmarket. We're committed to driving the successful deployment of these solutions as part of broader digital transformation journeys for our clients."

The partnership is positioned to support the specific needs of midmarket wholesale and distribution SMEs seeking modern, integrated cloud-based systems as they transition from legacy solutions.
