Juniper Networks has announced a partnership with the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation for the upcoming Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

The collaboration focuses on optimising network systems and ensuring data security for the international sporting event. This partnership marks Juniper Networks’ debut in the Olympic and Paralympic sphere.

The agreement entails Juniper Networks providing their AI-Native Networking Platform to manage the event’s digital complexities, including real-time data management, cybersecurity, and high-volume network demands. Sujai Hajela, Executive Vice President of AI-Driven Enterprise at Juniper Networks, said, "Juniper leverages the right data, the right real-time response and the right infrastructure to provide predictable, reliable, measurable and secure connections for every device, user, application and resource."

Juniper’s AI-Native Networking Platform features advanced wired, wireless, routing, and security solutions. According to Hajela, this platform is designed to give users "simple and reliable access to digital assets and online information throughout the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games."

The partnership is built on shared values such as inclusion and employee well-being. Juniper Networks emphasises people, equality, and diversity, which aligns with the vision of the Organising Committee of the Games. This collaboration aims to make the event a model for people-centric values.

Chris Barnard, Vice President of Telecoms and Infrastructure for Europe at IDC, added, "The partnership between Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation and Juniper Networks highlights the experience-first value that intelligent technology can bring to large-scale sports events. Juniper’s AI-Native Networking Platform is designed to provide the data-driven reliability and security needed to manage the relentless demands of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, delivering exceptional connectivity and robust protection of digital assets."

Juniper Networks will serve as the official secure IP network provider for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, handling the digital complexities across multiple locations. Additionally, Juniper aims to implement a circular economy approach by ensuring that all equipment used during the event will be collected and recycled after its conclusion. Mario Manfredoni, Senior Sales Director for South Europe at Juniper Networks, stated, "Juniper’s goal is that none of the equipment goes to waste or ends up in landfill, and instead foster a more environmentally friendly business model. The products will be returned to the production process as pre-owned items through Juniper’s partner."

The partnership aims to not only handle the real-time demands and networking needs of the Games but also to highlight Juniper Networks' commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. Juniper Networks' involvement in the event underscores the increasing importance of secure, reliable digital infrastructure in managing large-scale international events.
