Kaspersky Standard scoops Product of the Year at AV-Comparatives
Kaspersky continues to break records in the cybersecurity industry as its newest product, Kaspersky Standard, takes the Product of the Year award from AV-Comparatives, an independent testing institute widely acclaimed within the field. This recognition marks the first for the Kaspersky Consumer Portfolio, launched in 2022, and solidifies Kaspersky's position as the only cybersecurity vendor to have received such an accolade seven times.
In 2023, AV-Comparatives subjected 16 security solutions from global vendors to rigorous testing. The solutions were graded on their capability to resist Real-World Internet threats, detect contemporary malicious software, safeguard against advanced targeted attacks, and provide protection without compromising device speed or generating false positives. Kaspersky Standard stood out, recording the highest overall score in all seven of the tests in the Public Consumer Main-Test Series.
The outstanding performance of Kaspersky Standard also earned the brand five further awards in various categories in 2023. These awards included Real World Protection 2023 Silver, Malware Protection 2023 Silver, ATP Consumer 2023 Silver (Advanced Threat Protection 2023 Silver), Best Overall Speed 2023 Bronze, and Least False Positives 2023 Bronze, making Kaspersky the only cybersecurity vendor to secure such an achievement.
Key features of Kaspersky Standard praised by AV-Comparatives included its simple installation process with secure default options, user-friendly, modern tiled interface, as well as its excellent behaviour in malware detection scenarios. The institute spotlighted how Kaspersky Standard automatically detects and eliminates all threats when opening a folder with malware, not providing any chances for the malware to replicate, infiltrate the system, or even run.
Forming the basic tier of the newly launched Kaspersky Consumer Portfolio, Kaspersky Standard is designed to fulfil key security needs of consumers, providing 24/7 real-time detection and blocking of threats. The offering acts as a springboard to the two advanced tiers, Kaspersky Plus and Kaspersky Premium, which provide expansive privacy and data protection and high levels of device performance.
A veteran participant in AV-Comparatives tests for over 20 years, Kaspersky leads other vendors in the number of awards in the Gold, Silver, and Bronze categories, with a total of 57 accolades under its belt. Andreas Clementi, founder and CEO of AV-Comparatives, recognised the phenomenal anti-malware capabilities of Kaspersky Standard, underscoring its "outstanding performance in all of our main-series consumer tests in 2023."
Eugene Kaspersky, CEO of Kaspersky, highlighted the comprehensive audits that their technologies undergo and the global standards they comply with, which vouch for the robust security provided to users. He further lauded Kaspersky Standard for its stellar debut in the tests and for maintaining the company's leading position in the market.
