Perigus Energy adopts Cetegra on Azure for GIS platform

Perigus Energy has adopted Cegal's Cetegra on Microsoft Azure for its European onshore GIS platform, marking the first use of Cetegra in onshore renewables.
The system will support Perigus Energy's onshore wind, solar and battery storage operations across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany and Spain. The company was formed after Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners acquired Ørsted's European onshore business.
As it managed the portfolio transition under a tight timetable, Perigus Energy needed a new way to deliver its GIS application estate. It sought a platform that could give internal teams and external stakeholders secure access to GIS applications without relying on physical infrastructure.
Cetegra was deployed as the foundation of that platform in a dedicated Microsoft Azure environment. The setup brings GIS applications into a single cloud-based workspace with managed infrastructure and security controls.
The move also reflects Perigus Energy's cloud-first IT strategy and governance requirements. The platform was chosen to provide a predictable operating model during a period of organisational change.
Najya Batool, GIS Manager for Onshore Ireland and UK at Perigus Energy, selected the platform after earlier experience with Cetegra at Capricorn Energy. The implementation followed an assessment of requirements and collaboration between the two companies.
Platform shift
The project extends Cetegra into a new part of the energy market. The platform has been used more widely in subsurface operations and elsewhere in the energy sector, but not previously in onshore renewables.
For Perigus Energy, the attraction was a cloud-native model that could be deployed quickly and adjusted as needs changed. The company also wanted to maintain control over access, governance and day-to-day operations while giving dispersed teams a consistent way to use applications and data.
Azure provides the underlying scale and resilience for the service, while Cetegra provides the digital workspace through which users access applications. The arrangement is intended to support both routine operations and shifts in business demand.
Operational need
The deployment has given Perigus Energy a secure GIS environment that meets its governance standards and supports collaboration across multiple countries. Performance can also be scaled in line with project and asset requirements.
Dean Proctor, Senior Key Account Manager at Cegal, commented on the deal.
“Perigus Energy's journey demonstrates how cloud-native platforms like Cegal's Cetegra can support complex transitions while maintaining strong governance and operational clarity. We're very pleased to welcome Perigus Energy as a customer and to support them with a platform designed for scale, security and collaboration,” said Dean Proctor, Senior Key Account Manager at Cegal.
Batool also addressed the implementation and the transition to live service.
“Cetegra has provided us with a secure and scalable platform that aligns well with our cloud-first approach. The transition was handled efficiently and effectively by Cegal, with close collaboration ensuring seamless continuity during this critical business transition,” said Najya Batool, GIS Manager for Onshore Ireland and UK at Perigus Energy.
