Pine acquires Ireland’s DB Computer Solutions in global ERP push
Pine Services Group has acquired DB Computer Solutions, an established Sage Software and IT services provider based in Ireland.
DB Computer Solutions (DBCS), with offices in Limerick and Dublin, becomes the seventh Sage practice to join Pine Services Group's portfolio and represents Pine's first acquisition outside of the United States.
No financial details relating to the acquisition have been disclosed. Founded in 1992, DBCS has a three-decade presence providing software solutions such as Sage 200, Sage CRM, and Sage Payroll, particularly to clients in the manufacturing, engineering, and distribution sectors across Ireland.
DBCS is also preparing to introduce a new Sage Intacct practice, broadening its offerings to include cloud-based financial management solutions targeted at Irish businesses undergoing digital transformation.
The partnership aims to preserve the legacy of DBCS while providing it with additional resources to support future growth and product development. In a statement, Ian Cumiskey, Chief Executive Officer at DB Computer Solutions, said:
"After 35+ years of building DBCS, it was important to find a partner who could not only honour our legacy but also take our solutions to the next level. Pine has the resources, vision, and growth strategy to do just that, while ensuring we have the skills and support to grow into the future. Most importantly, our customers will continue working with the same dedicated people they know and trust, while also gaining access to an expanded set of products and services through Pine and Evergreen,"
Pine's expansion into Ireland is aligned with forecasts for the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software market. According to the advisory firm Gartner, worldwide spending on ERP software is projected to exceed USD $67 billion in 2025, with adoption of cloud ERP expected to grow at double-digit rates each year.
Digital transformation within Ireland is accelerating the need for modern ERP platforms, particularly among manufacturers and distributors seeking efficient financial management and comprehensive IT services.
Paul O'Riordan, Vice President Medium Segment, UKI, Sage, commented on the impact of the acquisition for Sage customers in Ireland:
"DBCS has been a valued Sage partner in Ireland for many years, with a strong track record of delivering Sage solutions to mid-sized businesses. Their acquisition by Pine Services Group brings new scale and momentum at a pivotal time. As they accelerate the growth of their Sage Intacct practice, we're excited to see more customers in Ireland gain access to powerful cloud-native financial management that supports smarter decisions, real-time visibility, and fuels long-term growth,"
The acquisition marks a significant stage in Pine Services Group's strategy of expanding its managed IT and ERP services internationally while continuing to use a decentralised 'buy and hold' approach.
Ramsey Sahyoun, Co-Founder at Evergreen, underscored the milestone this move represents for Pine:
"Expanding Pine's footprint outside of the US is a huge milestone and an exciting growth opportunity. Our decentralized buy & hold strategy has resonated with business owners that want a true home for their company, and we're thrilled to partner with Ian and his team as our first Sage ERP partner internationally,"
The integration of DBCS into Pine Services Group is expected to retain the DBCS team in place, focusing on continuity for existing clients as well as the introduction of new offerings through the Pine and Evergreen network. Elan Molko, Associate at Pine Services Group, added:
"We're thrilled to welcome DB Computer Solutions into the Pine family as we expand into Ireland. Ian and his team have built a strong reputation for delivering exceptional Sage and IT support services across the region. We look forward to building upon their foundation by supporting DBCS' customers and accelerating the growth of its Sage Intacct practice,"
Pine Services Group continues to build a portfolio of managed services and ERP software companies, with the addition of DBCS providing increased presence in the Irish market and access to a wider range of businesses pursuing digital transformation and financial management modernisation.
