Provenir has been named a Major Player in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Decision Intelligence Platforms 2026 Vendor Assessment, after being placed in the same category in the 2024 edition.

The assessment examined vendors involved in decision design, decision engineering and decision orchestration across sectors including financial services, insurance, government, manufacturing and retail. Provenir said the recognition reflects its continued focus on financial services and related markets.

IDC said Provenir's platform combines decisioning, data orchestration, model orchestration, simulation and case management in a single cloud-based environment, reducing reliance on separate products for related decisioning tasks.

The assessment also highlighted the breadth of Provenir's data marketplace, which includes more than 150 prebuilt integrations with third-party data and analytics providers. It said new integrations are typically completed in about two weeks rather than several months.

IDC also pointed to the company's AI assistant, which operates across dashboards, model building and documentation. The assistant gives users conversational access to insights, recommendations and translated documentation across the platform, according to the assessment.

Simulation focus

The report also drew attention to Provenir's simulation method, which uses the same processing setup as its live operating platform. IDC said the process tests changes with up to 12 months of live production data before rules or scorecards are introduced.

The approach is intended to give organisations a clearer view of projected outcomes before operational changes are made. Provenir said it has invested over the past two years in production-accurate simulation, AI models and assistants, and broader tools for designing, testing and deploying decision strategies.

The 2026 assessment also reflects the wider use of generative and agentic AI to write, test and explain decision logic while retaining human oversight. Provenir said its generative AI assistant and MCP connectivity are already in production, supporting documentation retrieval, insight generation and guided model building.

Market backdrop

IDC said Provenir's near-term product priorities include "natural language-driven flow generation, expanded automated recommendations, and human-in-the-loop monitoring for agents, reflecting a broader shift from assisted decision design toward continuous, machine learning-informed strategy optimization across the decisioning life cycle."

Provenir is used by more than 120 institutions and says its systems process more than 4 billion decisions a year across more than 60 countries. Its business centres on decision intelligence software for financial services providers, where lenders, banks and insurers are under pressure to adjust risk, fraud and customer decisioning processes more quickly.

Industry assessments such as IDC MarketScape are commonly used by technology buyers to compare vendors on product offering, strategy and market standing. The model uses qualitative and quantitative measures to place suppliers within a comparative framework.

"I believe being named a Major Player for the second assessment in this market reflects the progress we've made in building a true decision intelligence platform," said Lawrence Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Provenir.

"Financial services providers need to change strategy quickly without losing control of how decisions are made. By bringing data, AI, simulation and governance together, we help customers test, understand and improve decisions before changes go live," Smith said.
