Thrive Learning promotes Cassie Gasson to Co-CEO role

Wed, 14th Aug 2024

Thrive Learning, a company specialising in learning technology, has announced the promotion of Cassie Gasson to the position of Co-CEO. The announcement marks a significant leadership shift as Gasson will share the role with founder Sean Reddington.

Gasson, aged 30, has been with the company since 2019, initially joining as the Head of Marketing. She subsequently ascended through the ranks to become the company's Chief Marketing Officer. Her career trajectory includes becoming the youngest female director and shareholder at the company. Reflecting on her journey, Gasson remarked, "I've learned so much from Sean's leadership over the last eight years and am honoured to grow the incredible culture he has fostered. The fact he's trusting me with this role is a testament to his belief that potential, dedication and talent can trump experience."

Reddington, who founded Thrive in 2019, has a history of entrepreneurial ventures, including tech company Mind Click, which he sold after four years in a multi-million-pound deal. Speaking on Gasson's new role, Reddington stated, "Cassie is the definition of success. Her impact on both our bottom line and our company culture has been nothing short of remarkable. There is no one more Thrive than Cassie, and I have no doubt that she will excel in this new role."

Since its establishment, Thrive has seen rapid organic growth, positioning itself as a significant player in the industry for workplace learning solutions. The company has approximately 200 employees and a client base of over 380 companies across 60+ countries, serving over three million end users annually. Notable clients include Volvo, Vodafone, ASOS, Burger King, and Avon. Thrive has achieved these milestones without external investments and boasts a 99% customer satisfaction rate.

Gasson's contributions as CMO have been pivotal in this growth. She transformed the marketing department into a significant revenue generator for the company, attributing 65% of Thrive's new business revenue last year to her initiatives. Additionally, she drove innovation by recruiting an experienced AI team, focusing on creating personalised, automated, and adaptive learning solutions. Her leadership also supported a 54% increase in annual recurring revenue (ARR) and a 30% year-on-year customer base growth.

One of Gasson's immediate priorities as Co-CEO will be to relaunch Thrive's People Strategy and refine internal communication strategies. She will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team on new initiatives and conduct a comprehensive review of compensation and performance management. Her strategic vision in marketing and branding aims to ensure that Thrive continues to offer a cohesive and impactful user experience.

Reflecting on the future direction of Thrive, Gasson said, "I'm incredibly excited to take on this new challenge as Co-CEO of Thrive. At Thrive, we're committed to revolutionising the way people learn at work and are well on our way to being the go-to all-in-one AI-powered solution for enterprise businesses globally. Our promise to put our customers and people first will always be our priority."

As Thrive continues to grow, the company's strategy to foster talent and provide leadership opportunities for women is highlighted by Gasson's promotion. Fifty percent of Thrive's leadership team are women, demonstrating the company's commitment to diversity and inclusion.
