Trading 212 has partnered with Cardamon to deploy the regtech company's AI compliance platform across its products and markets. The rollout spans multiple jurisdictions in which the fintech operates.

Within the first weeks of implementation, the system has reduced the time Trading 212's compliance team spends on some regulatory monitoring and mapping work. The platform has been integrated with internal tools including Slack and Jira, allowing staff to manage regulatory changes within existing workflows.

Cardamon, a London-based company founded in early 2025 by former Revolut product leads, sells software that maps a firm's regulatory position and monitors rule changes relevant to its business. Its system is designed to help regulated financial services groups launch products and enter markets more quickly than through manual processes or older compliance systems.

For Trading 212, the partnership is aimed at easing the growing workload that comes with operating across different product lines and regulatory regimes. The platform identifies changes relevant to the business, alerts the appropriate teams and can create tasks inside existing workplace systems.

Embedded process

Rather than serving as a separate compliance database, the technology sits inside the tools staff already use. Cardamon said this allows compliance work to be handled as part of daily operations rather than through an added layer of systems.

The software can also map a client's regulatory position in minutes rather than months, creating a tailored view based on products, licences, jurisdictions and operations. It then assesses how relevant changes affect the client and what action is needed, using the client's own methodology.

Areg Nzsdejan, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Cardamon, said the agreement shows how financial firms are looking for ways to handle rising compliance demands as they expand.

"Trading 212 is a great example of how Cardamon can help financial institutions manage regulatory complexity as they grow. When you're expanding rapidly across multiple markets, jurisdictions and products, the regulatory complexity grows with you. Traditional compliance processes can struggle to keep up, particularly when teams are managing different requirements across different systems.

What makes Cardamon different is that it understands a firm's specific regulatory requirements and works directly within its existing operations. It can identify the regulatory changes that matter, assess their impact and help teams take action, all within the tools they already use. For a business operating at Trading 212's scale, that means less time spent navigating compliance processes and more capacity to support continued growth," Nzsdejan said.

Growing market

The deal comes as financial technology groups face heavier regulatory scrutiny while continuing to add products and expand across borders. For compliance teams, the challenge is not only keeping pace with large volumes of regulatory updates, but also determining which changes matter to specific businesses in specific markets.

According to Cardamon, a business the size of Trading 212 can receive many regulatory updates each day. Its system is intended to filter those developments so teams see only changes relevant to their jurisdictions and product lines, with reviews available in whichever language the user needs.

The platform can also go beyond monitoring and alerts. If instructed, its agents can update policies and controls and implement necessary regulatory changes, shifting parts of the compliance workflow from manual handling to automated execution.

That places the company in a fast-growing area of regtech focused on using AI not just for information retrieval, but for operational tasks inside controlled business processes. Banks, payments groups and trading platforms are among the industries examining such tools as they look to reduce manual compliance workloads while maintaining oversight.

Trading 212's Group Regulatory and Policy Lead said the appeal was that the system fits around established processes rather than requiring new ones to be built from scratch.

"Trading 212 has grown rapidly, both in scale and in the range of products and markets we serve. That growth brings greater regulatory responsibility and complexity. What's particularly valuable about Cardamon is that it helps us manage this complexity by fitting directly into the systems and workflows our teams already use. We're not having to build new processes around another piece of technology. Instead, we're making our existing operations more efficient and giving our teams the tools they need to stay on top of regulatory change as the business continues to grow," said Alexandra Meres, Group Regulatory and Policy Lead, Trading 212.

Cardamon's other customers include Nubank and Paddle, adding to an early client list built since the company was founded by Areg Nzsdejan and Dmytro Astakhov. The startup is also a graduate of Y Combinator 2025.
