Verne appoints Jensen as new Head of Marketing
Verne, a provider of sustainable data centre services, has officially appointed Anne Katrine Vestergaard Jensen to the newly created role of Head of Marketing.
Jensen, who will be based at Verne's headquarters in London, will oversee the company's marketing strategies and operations across its Northern European platform.
Jensen's appointment comes as Verne aims to meet the increasing demand for cost-effective data centre services fuelled by renewable energy sources. Dominic Ward, CEO of Verne, commented on her appointment, stating, "Anne Katrine brings a broad range of relevant skills to our growing team, which will be invaluable as we continue to tap into the growing demand for Nordic data centre services. Her track record in the data centre industry, coupled with her experience of helping fast growth companies scale and optimise their marketing operations, makes her the perfect fit for our business, so we are delighted to welcome her onboard."
Jensen's previous roles include extensive experience within the data centre industry. She started her career as a PR and social media specialist before joining Interxion in 2016. During her tenure at Interxion, she managed automated marketing campaigns across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Following Interxion's acquisition by Digital Realty, Jensen headed channel and alliances marketing across 11 European countries. Her duties involved close collaboration with hyperscalers and various strategic technology partners. Since 2021, Jensen has served as a senior consultant for several fast-growing Software as a Service (SaaS) companies, working on scalable marketing strategies aimed at long-term revenue growth.
Commenting on her new role, Jensen expressed enthusiasm about Verne's mission and operations. "Verne is a true trailblazer in the data centre industry. It was one of the first operators to offer services entirely powered by renewables, and its Icelandic and Finnish campuses have been built for maximum efficiency, adhering to the principles of high-quality Nordic design. This is an incredibly compelling opportunity to be involved with, especially as more organisations seek to work with data operators that prioritise sustainability and operational excellence," she said.
Verne currently operates four data centres located in Iceland and Finland, all of which are powered by 100 percent renewable energy. These facilities are designed for high-intensity workloads. Additionally, Verne has a hyper-connected central London data centre, which is aimed at latency and connectivity-sensitive applications. The company's data centres offer solutions that help organisations scale their digital infrastructure cost-effectively while also reducing environmental impact.
Jensen's appointment signals Verne's commitment to bolstering its senior leadership team with individuals experienced in both the data centre and marketing domains. This strategic move aims to enhance the company's ability to attract more clients seeking sustainable data solutions.
