WorkBuzz secures GBP £4 million to boost AI & global expansion

Today

YFM Equity Partners has completed a GBP £3.96 million follow-on investment in WorkBuzz, bringing its total investment in the employee engagement and insights platform to GBP £8.8 million.

The latest funding round totals GBP £4.0 million and includes investment from both the BSC VCTs Funds and YFM's Growth Funds. This capital injection comes as WorkBuzz reports strong business performance, with annual recurring revenue almost doubling from GBP £2.8 million in June 2023 to more than GBP £5 million in March 2025.

The company has launched new artificial intelligence-powered features designed to help clients translate employee insights into practical actions. These enhancements aim to support organisations in building more engaged and productive workforces by providing actionable recommendations based on collected data about their workforces.

WorkBuzz plans to use the follow-on funding to pursue its next phase of growth, leveraging existing strategic partnerships in the UK and internationally. The company will also continue to develop AI features to expand its product offerings.

As part of its ongoing expansion, WorkBuzz is strengthening its executive team. Alex Merrifield has been appointed as Chief Product Officer to lead product development, while recruitment is underway for a Partnerships Director, who will focus on creating additional strategic value through new and existing collaborations.

Sophie Tainton, Portfolio Director at YFM, said, "WorkBuzz has made impressive strides since our initial investment, both in terms of revenue growth and product development. The team continues to demonstrate their ability to execute on an ambitious vision, particularly with the introduction of AI-driven features and their plans for expansion. We are excited to support the company further as it scales, strengthens its leadership team, and launches new products to help organisations better understand and engage their employees."

Steve Frost, Founder & CEO of WorkBuzz, commented, "Partnering with YFM has allowed us to accelerate our growth, invest in innovation, and scale our impact. This follow-on investment provides the resources we need to continue expanding our platform, enter new markets, and create the future of employee listening with our clients. We look forward to this next chapter in our journey with YFM's continued support."

The investment team from YFM included Sophie Tainton, Jack Redwood, and Charlie Winward.

WorkBuzz aims to meet the growing demand for technology-based employee engagement solutions, as organisations seek more effective ways to understand and respond to workforce sentiment. With a presence in Milton Keynes and an engineering team in Kraków, Poland, the company plans to expand its market reach and product capabilities with the support of the new capital.
