Cloud Services stories - Page 422

Over the last decade the IT world has seen a mass transition from in-house computer assets to everything-as-a-service in the cloud, with hardware, platform and services now all commonly cloud-resident. Ideally positioned to support distributed working and working from home, most major players are currently moving or planning to move more than half of their operations to the cloud. The current direction of travel is to multi-cloud deployment, seen as providing greater flexibility, specialisation and security. The main bumps in the road have shown up in skills shortages reported by many organisations, complexity leading to misconfiguration and the need to operate and integrate multiple security dashboards. Consequently, third-party cloud security providers are a hot growth area.
