Aspire Technology Solutions buys NVT Group in Scotland

Wed, 1st Apr 2026

Aspire Technology Solutions has acquired NVT Group, its third acquisition in two years.

NVT is a managed service provider based in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire. The business supports more than 90 organisations and brings 49 employees into Aspire, all of whom transferred as part of the transaction.

The deal strengthens Aspire's position in Scotland, where NVT has had a long-standing presence since its founding in 1988. The combined team will operate from Aspire's Glasgow hub, with NVT's services integrated into Aspire's delivery model.

Expanding the UK footprint

Aspire has been expanding its regional footprint across the UK through a series of deals. With this latest transaction, the business now has more than 300 employees and provides managed IT, cyber security and workplace technology services to mid-sized organisations.

NVT's customer base is closely aligned with Aspire's existing market in both company profile and service requirements. That overlap appears to have been a key factor in the deal, giving Aspire a larger customer base in Scotland while maintaining its focus on mid-sized UK businesses.

The transaction is intended to provide continuity for both NVT customers and staff. It also gives Aspire a larger delivery presence in Scotland at a time when many managed service providers are seeking greater scale and regional coverage.

Chris Fraser, Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Aspire Technology Solutions, said: "We are delighted to welcome the team at NVT Group into Aspire. They have built a strong business with an established customer base and deep expertise.

"Our priority is to provide immediate continuity for both customers and the team, while enhancing the service they receive through Aspire's scale and capability. This acquisition strengthens our presence in Scotland while maintaining the high level of service and support our customers expect. Bringing the teams together in Glasgow will create a stronger platform for growth as we continue to invest in the region."

The deal also preserves senior leadership links from NVT. According to NVT's executive chairman, Dougie Weir, group operations director, and Hamish Fraser, group managing director, will continue to play roles in the business.

Stephen Park Brown, Executive Chairman, NVT Group, said: "Joining Aspire marks an important step for the business, giving our customers and team confidence in the future. Aspire's culture is closely aligned with NVT's, as shown by both organisations' long-term customer relationships. Dougie Weir, Group Operations Director, and Hamish Fraser, Group Managing Director, will continue to play a key role in the business, maintaining strong relationships with customers and colleagues. This creates a strong platform for the further technical development of our people and a broader solution portfolio for our customers."

Growth Strategy

The acquisition comes as consolidation continues across the UK managed services market. Providers have been using acquisitions to widen geographic reach, add technical specialisms and secure larger customer bases, particularly in cyber security and outsourced IT support.

Aspire is backed by private equity firm LDC and has been expanding beyond its original base. It already has a presence in Scotland, the North East and Yorkshire, and is investing in areas including a Security Operations Centre, managed IT services and workplace technology.

Private equity backing has become a familiar feature of the sector, with investors drawn to recurring revenue models and demand for outsourced technology support. For businesses such as Aspire, acquisitions can offer a faster route into regional markets than building teams from scratch.

In this case, adding NVT gives Aspire an established Scottish customer base and a local team with existing relationships. It also brings a business with a history spanning more than three decades, which may help reassure customers during the integration process.

The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. The deal leaves Aspire with a larger presence in Scotland and adds momentum to a strategy that has already produced three acquisitions in two years.
