AULUMU unveils slim aramid case for Galaxy Z Fold8
Wed, 5th Aug 2026 (Today)
AULUMU has launched an ultra-slim aramid fiber case for Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra, priced at USD $69.98 and GBP £64.50.
Aimed at owners of Samsung's latest foldable phones, the accessory adds to a growing market for premium products built around flagship handset launches.
The case uses 1500D woven aramid fibre and features an aluminium alloy camera frame with raised protection around the lens module. AULUMU says it is about 1.25mm thick for the Galaxy Z Fold8 range, with the Z Fold8 case weighing about 31g and the Z Fold8 Wide version about 27g.
The launch also emphasises thermal management. AULUMU has included what it calls its CoolHyper Thermal System, intended to improve heat dissipation during heavy use such as gaming, video recording and multitasking.
Some versions also include a temperature indicator that provides a visual reading of device heat during operation, giving users a clearer sense of handset temperature while in use.
MagSafe compatibility is another feature, allowing the case to work with magnetic chargers, mounts, wallets and other accessories. It is also compatible with AULUMU's G09 Infinite Rotation Magnetic Stand.
Design focus
Founded in 2022, AULUMU has positioned the case around slim construction and industrial styling. The woven black-and-grey finish is intended to preserve the feel of the handset while adding grip and everyday protection.
The release comes as accessory makers increasingly target foldable devices with products tailored to thinner form factors and larger camera modules. Foldables present different design constraints from standard smartphones because of hinge layouts, split-body construction and the need to limit added bulk.
Samsung's latest Fold line has prompted launches from specialist brands seeking early demand from customers buying new flagship devices. For case and add-on makers, timing around handset releases is often important because buyers tend to purchase protection products at the same time as a new phone.
Accessory market
The case is available now through AULUMU's direct sales channel, with Amazon and Amazon UK expected to stock it in August. Broader availability could help the brand reach customers beyond its direct buyer base.
AULUMU describes itself as a design-led accessories brand with customers in more than 20 countries and regions. It says it has received patents and international design recognition since launch.
The company says the case was built for users who want protection without extra thickness. It also highlights the use of aramid fibre, a material commonly associated with low weight and durability in consumer electronics accessories.
The broader accessories segment has become more specialised as smartphone hardware has matured. Rather than relying only on basic protection, brands are increasingly trying to differentiate products through materials, magnetic mounting support, and features tied to heat management or device ergonomics.
Foldable phones are a particular test of that approach because case makers need to balance structural protection with ease of opening and closing. Thicker materials can undermine the portability premium foldable buyers expect, while camera housings and charging systems create additional engineering trade-offs.
AULUMU says selected models will include an intelligent temperature indicator and that the wider design was shaped to maintain a slim profile. The product was designed around the concept of "Light to Weave Performance."
