Blue Yonder has been named a Leader in Verdantix's Green Quadrant for Supply Chain Sustainability Software, which assesses the company's supply chain sustainability offering.

Verdantix said Blue Yonder builds sustainability functions into the planning and execution systems used by supply chain teams, rather than treating sustainability as a separate reporting process.

That approach allows customers to weigh carbon emissions, waste and ESG risk alongside traditional supply chain measures such as cost and service in day-to-day decisions. Its tools are designed to give users direct visibility into emissions across supply chains and support scenario planning around alternative suppliers, materials and production routes.

The assessment also highlighted the use of AI agents within Blue Yonder's software. Verdantix pointed to the company's Orchestrator agent as a co-ordination layer that helps organisations manage multiple AI agents and surface natural-language insights linked to environmental indicators.

In the report, Elisa Molero, Senior Analyst at Verdantix, wrote: "Blue Yonder's Orchestrator agent serves as the coordination layer across its agentic ecosystem, enabling firms to deploy and manage multiple AI agents that surface natural-language insights across environmental KPIs. As a result, firms can track progress, incorporate carbon emissions and waste into supply chain planning, and support sustainability initiatives, such as shifting freight from air to ocean transportation logistics."

Blue Yonder's sustainability products span both planning and execution across supply chains. The company lists logistics emissions calculation, transport carbon emissions optimisation, manufacturing sustainability, retail planning sustainability, and supplier traceability and risk management among the main areas covered by the software.

Emissions data

One part of the product suite is the Logistics Emissions Calculator, which automates carbon measurement across multimodal transport. Blue Yonder said the tool uses methodology accredited by GLEC and aligned with ISO 14083.

The company also focuses on supplier oversight through its network software. Customers can track multi-tier material traceability, assess ESG risk across suppliers and evaluate supplier sustainability performance, according to Blue Yonder.

Supply chain software providers have faced rising demand from businesses trying to move beyond sustainability disclosure and towards operational changes in procurement, logistics and production. The challenge has been particularly acute in emissions accounting, where companies often struggle to gather consistent data across transport modes, manufacturing sites and supplier networks.

Blue Yonder aims to reduce that burden by making sustainability data part of the operational workflows used by supply chain teams. The company serves more than 3,000 retailers, manufacturers and logistics service providers.

Saskia van Gendt, Chief Sustainability Officer at Blue Yonder, said the recognition reflected a broader market shift towards integrating sustainability metrics into routine supply chain management.

"Integrating sustainability into supply chain management will accelerate a shift from just reporting to achieving measurable waste and carbon reduction," said Saskia van Gendt, Chief Sustainability Officer at Blue Yonder. "When sustainability is embedded into planning and execution systems, companies can reduce waste, strengthen resilience, improve efficiency and maintain profitability even in volatile conditions. We believe being named a Leader in this Green Quadrant is meaningful validation of the need to integrate sustainability into supply chain management."
