Dan Wensley named new CEO to drive global GTIA initiatives

Today

Dan Wensley has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Global Technology Industry Association (GTIA) following a multinational search.

Wensley's selection follows a process that considered hundreds of candidates worldwide. He joins the association at a pivotal point as it continues to pursue a four-pillar strategy centred on people, resources, community, and advancement, with the aim of driving member growth through expanded networking, educational opportunities, and global-to-local engagement initiatives.

In a statement, Wensley said, "I'm incredibly honored and excited to be named CEO of GTIA and to work alongside our outstanding Board of Directors and thousands of members to create more opportunities to connect and grow. It's an absolute privilege to lead this team and give back to an association that has further enabled my career growth through community, education, and shared experiences."

The appointment is regarded by the association as a significant step in its ongoing transformation and its mission as a vendor-neutral global non-profit supporting the IT channel. Wensley will work with Chief Operating Officer Kelly Ricker, Chief Community Officer MJ Shoer, and the GTIA 2025 Board of Directors in advancing the association's goals.

Tracy Pound, managing director, Prizm Solutions and Maximity Limited, and outgoing GTIA board chair, commented, "I'm thrilled to see GTIA grow even stronger under Dan's proven leadership—becoming more global, more relevant, and more vocal in representing the extraordinary people, companies, and outcomes that shape the global technology ecosystem."

Wensley's prior experience includes serving as a strategic advisor and former CEO at ScalePad. During his time there, the company underwent a rebrand and expanded from 30 to 247 employees, growing its partner base to more than 12,000 globally. Wensley has also maintained ties to GTIA, previously known as the CompTIA Community, by serving on its board from 2012 to 2015.

In recognition of his influence within the IT channel, Wensley has been named a Channel Chief and MSPmentor Hall of Fame recipient (2013). His three decades in the industry include leadership roles at Level Platforms, Plan 27, and PassPortal, and advisor experience at Top Down Ventures working with emerging vendors and Managed Service Providers (MSPs).

Later in the year, Wensley is set to engage with the association's community through events including the GTIA UK & Ireland Community Forum & Spotlight Awards in Manchester and ChannelCon 2025 in Nashville.

The Global Technology Industry Association describes itself as the sole vendor-neutral non-profit membership community representing the worldwide IT channel.

The association aims to provide resources, networking opportunities, and industry standards for tens of thousands of IT professionals from thousands of providers, vendors, and distributors, supporting member businesses in an evolving technology landscape.
