Embat has integrated J.P. Morgan Payments' Banking Authorization Service API into its treasury management platform, cutting bank connectivity time for joint clients from months to days.

The integration lets clients connect their J.P. Morgan accounts to Embat's treasury system without external certification or internal software development. Users can authenticate and connect accounts in seconds, while Embat uses its own certificates for connections with J.P. Morgan Payments.

That replaces a process that has typically required treasury software providers and clients to obtain certificates through an external certification authority, alongside implementation work, data validation and signed approvals. Those steps have often delayed the start of operations for months.

Under the new arrangement, J.P. Morgan account data, including balances, transactions and payment information, flows into Embat's platform in real time. The data can then be integrated with a client's enterprise resource planning system and wider finance software.

The setup is aimed particularly at businesses with multiple subsidiaries or legal entities. Instead of repeating the connection process for each entity, clients can use J.P. Morgan Payments' multi-tenant certificate management structure to cover several subsidiaries through a single security configuration.

Embat said it is the first treasury management system to use J.P. Morgan Payments' own user interface through the API integration. Clients can authorise access, manage services and monitor onboarding progress through a single hub.

Early users of the integration include Factorial and Cazoo, among the first joint clients to adopt the connection.

Bank connectivity

The move reflects a broader push in corporate treasury to shorten onboarding times and reduce manual setup work between banks and specialist finance software providers. Treasury teams often depend on direct bank feeds for up-to-date cash positions, payment visibility and reconciliation across multiple entities and markets.

J.P. Morgan Payments has been expanding its use of application programming interfaces to give technology providers direct access to treasury and payments services. For treasury management vendors, simpler authentication and onboarding can reduce a key source of friction in winning and deploying corporate clients.

Embat focuses on treasury and cash management software for mid-sized and larger companies. Its platform connects with more than 15,000 banks and major enterprise resource planning systems, and the company operates from offices in London, Madrid and Munich.

Santiago Alcaraz Sánchez, Head of Strategic Partnerships and Integrations at J.P. Morgan Payments, said: "At J.P. Morgan Payments, we are focused on ensuring technology providers and their clients can connect to our services as quickly as possible, without compromising the rigour we require for every connection. This integration with Embat is a prime example of how we simplify banking, treasury and payment authentication to accelerate the value delivered to our mutual clients."

Antonio Berga, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Embat, said: "For years, bank connectivity has been a time-consuming and tedious process for finance teams. By collaborating with J.P. Morgan Payments, we have eliminated that hurdle. What used to take months is now operational within days, with no technical development required. Clients simply sign the legal documentation authorising Embat to access their accounts. Once they go live, they have the benefit of making decisions based on real-time data, backed by Embat's AI technology and the robustness and security of a top-tier bank."
