Hitachi Vantara & Veeam partner to enhance data protection
Hitachi Vantara, the provider of data storage, infrastructure, and hybrid cloud management, has announced a strategic partnership with Veeam Software, the leading company in data protection and ransomware recovery. This alliance aims to deliver advanced cyber resiliency and data protection solutions to customers by integrating Hitachi Vantara's infrastructure portfolio with Veeam's software, thereby safeguarding businesses from ransomware attacks and minimising downtime.
The partnership becomes more significant in this era of escalating ransomware attacks and data breaches, wherein businesses face extraordinary challenges protecting their vital data. As the Veeam 2024 Data Protection Trends Report outlines, at least 76% of organisations have suffered at least one ransomware attack in the past year. These rising numbers underline the urgent need for effective strategies and partnerships to counter these expanding cybersecurity risks.
The alliance fortifies enterprises' cyber resilience, presenting easily deployable solutions that are appropriate for their specific stage in their cloud journeys. The Veeam Data Platform seamlessly integrates with Hitachi Vantara's existing storage platforms, such as Virtual Storage Platform One, Hitachi Content Platform (HCP), and Hitachi Unified Compute Platform (UCP). This integration provides advanced cyber resilience features such as ransomware detection, rapid recovery, and immutable storage. This, in turn, empowers businesses to enhance their recovery point objectives (RPOs) and secure the integrity of data across hybrid cloud environments.
"As we continue to endorse a channel-first approach, our partnership with Veeam personifies our pledge to empower our partners," stated Kimberly King, Senior Vice President of Strategic Partners and Alliances, Hitachi Vantara. She added that by joining forces, not only do their partners have access to competitively priced solutions from Hitachi Vantara, but they're also equipped with comprehensive deployment and management services to better serve their stakeholders.
Larissa Crandall, Vice President of Global Channel and Alliances, Veeam Software, expressed that the partnership is focused on providing cyber resilience to its customers. She stated that the fusion of Hitachi Vantara's infrastructure capabilities and Veeam's software prowess empowers businesses with user-friendly, advanced data protection and ransomware recovery solutions, guaranteeing the integrity and availability of critical data assets at all times.
Steve White, Program Vice President for IDC's worldwide channels and alliances research, noted that this collaboration is critical to enterprises at this stage. He remarked that in a landscape filled with cyber risks, this partnership equips businesses with crucial tools to navigate the intricacies of modern data protection. Besides, the alliance fortifies trust by bringing together industry leaders to provide a reliable defence against changing security challenges.
This tactical collaboration heightens Hitachi Vantara's data protection capabilities, ensuring 100% data availability for operational resilience and regulatory compliance. Hitachi Vantara modernises data protection from edge to core by integrating seamlessly with existing solutions. Immutable backups and ransomware protection ensure critical data remains accessible and secure, even against advanced cyber threats. With years of IT experience and a commitment to innovation, Hitachi Vantara is a trusted partner for organisations seeking to bolster their cybersecurity posture and ensure the uninterrupted availability of data.
