Kingfisher adopts Fivetran to boost data operations

Today

Kingfisher, a prominent international home improvement company, has selected Fivetran to enhance its data operations.

With operations spread across eight countries and brands including B&Q, Screwfix, and TradePoint, Kingfisher aims to streamline its data processing efforts using Fivetran's automated data movement platform. This will allow the company to replace several months of manual data engineering tasks, significantly expediting its data integration processes.

Fivetran's platform enables Kingfisher to integrate Google Analytics data into its centralised group data platform built on Databricks. This integration provides a comprehensive overview of customer journeys, which enhances Kingfisher's ability to fine-tune customer experiences and explore new sales opportunities.

Adrian Daniel, Group Data Platform Director at Kingfisher, elaborated on this partnership: "Customer data is the lifeblood of our operations, and Fivetran allows us to unlock greater agility and reliability within this data, while alleviating manual data management burden on our employees. Fivetran proved itself from the get-go. What would have taken our team between three to six months to build was set up with Fivetran in just an hour. This fast and secure data will support us in our mission to help make better homes accessible for everyone."

Fivetran's capabilities include 99.9% uptime and the ability to sync data every minute, ensuring timely access to critical business information. This functionality is expected to aid Kingfisher's strategic growth efforts by optimising decision-making processes and reducing resource expenditure related to data handling.

Rachel Thornton, Chief Marketing Officer at Fivetran, also commented on the collaboration: "Kingfisher is on an ambitious modernisation path, and the introduction of automated data flows will help the company supercharge these efforts. From saving data engineering resources to giving decision-makers a single view of vital customer data, Kingfisher's new Fivetran-powered data pipeline will act as a strategic level for efficiency and growth."

Kingfisher employs over 78,000 people and receives over a billion customer visits annually through its physical stores and online platforms. The company aims to enhance its operations and customer engagements further by leveraging the capabilities provided by Fivetran's platform.

The partnership between Kingfisher and Fivetran represents a significant advancement in data operations for the home improvement retailer. By automating data integration and management, Kingfisher can focus on enhancing customer experiences and driving strategic growth. This collaboration streamlines data processes and positions Kingfisher to leverage real-time insights, ultimately supporting its commitment to making better homes accessible for all. As the company continues to modernise its operations, integrating Fivetran's solutions could play a pivotal role in navigating the evolving landscape of the retail industry.
