NTT DATA, Google Cloud partner to speed up agentic AI uptake

Wed, 13th Aug 2025

NTT DATA and Google Cloud have entered into a global partnership to accelerate the adoption of agentic AI solutions and cloud modernisation for enterprise organisations worldwide.

The collaboration aims to drive industry-specific, cloud-native AI solutions by leveraging NTT DATA's expertise in digital transformation, cloud infrastructure, and data engineering alongside Google Cloud's advanced analytics, AI, and cloud services. The partnership also establishes a dedicated global Google Cloud Business Group at NTT DATA to scale capabilities in delivery and support global enterprise clients.

Co-innovation focus

The partnership will centre on co-developing tailored AI and cloud solutions for sectors including banking, insurance, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, life sciences, and the public sector. These offerings will combine NTT DATA's frameworks and best practices with Google Cloud's technology, with significant investments in joint go-to-market activities to ensure adoption in key markets.

Gartner forecasts that worldwide end-user spending on public cloud services will reach USD $723 billion in 2025, up from USD $595.7 billion in 2024. Growing deployment of AI in IT and business operations is cited as a key driver of more modern cloud infrastructure in the enterprise segment.

"This collaboration with Google Cloud represents a significant milestone in our mission to drive innovation and digital transformation across industries. By combining NTT DATA's deep expertise in AI, cloud-native modernization and enterprise solutions with Google Cloud's advanced technologies, we are helping businesses accelerate their AI-powered cloud adoption globally and unlock new opportunities for growth, " said Marv Mouchawar, Head of Global Innovation, NTT DATA.

Kevin Ichhpurani, President, Global Partner Ecosystem at Google Cloud, added, "Our partnership with NTT DATA will help enterprises use agentic AI to enhance business processes and solve complex industry challenges. By combining Google Cloud's AI with NTT DATA's implementation expertise, we will enable customers to deploy intelligent agents that modernize operations and deliver significant value for their organizations."

Application in industry

NTT DATA will use Google Cloud technologies to develop solutions such as Regla, which supports regulatory compliance and reporting in financial services, powered by Google Cloud's scalable AI infrastructure. In hospitality, NTT DATA's Virtual Travel Concierge is designed to enhance customer experience with always-on multilingual support, real-time itinerary planning, and personalised recommendations, utilising Google's Gemini AI models in more than three million monthly customer conversations.

The partnership's focus areas will include the development of industry-specific agentic AI solutions for analytics and decision-making, the acceleration of cloud modernisation, next-generation application and security modernisation, and sovereign cloud deployments to meet data sovereignty and regulatory requirements. Google Distributed Cloud technology will be used for both air-gapped and connected deployments, aimed at sectors such as finance, government, and healthcare.

The partnership also introduces a Google Distributed Cloud sandbox environment, intended for developers to build, test, and deploy industry and sovereign cloud solutions through hands-on training and pre-configured templates.

Scaling delivery and investment in skills

To ensure delivery at scale, NTT DATA has formed a global Google Cloud Business Group comprised of thousands of engineers, architects, and consultants. This group will collaborate with Google Cloud counterparts to assist clients in adopting and scaling AI-powered cloud services.

NTT DATA is investing in advanced training and certification for staff in sales, pre-sales, and service delivery roles, with a target to certify 5,000 engineers in Google Cloud technologies. Both parties are co-investing in sales and marketing campaigns to support enterprise cloud transformation across global markets.

Client impacts and prior collaboration

The announcement builds on a prior APAC co-innovation agreement between NTT DATA and Google Cloud, and aligns with NTT DATA's acquisition of Niveus Solutions, a Google Cloud specialist. Niveus Solutions has been recognised with several awards including Google Cloud Country Partner of the Year – India, Google Cloud Databases Partner of the Year – APAC, and Google Cloud Country Partner of the Year – Chile.

"We're excited to see the strengthened partnership between NTT DATA and Google Cloud, which continues to deliver measurable impact. Their combined expertise has been instrumental in migrating more than 380 workloads to Google Cloud to align with our cloud-first strategy. By running SAP HANA on Google Cloud, we have consolidated 100 legacy applications to create a powerful, modernized eCommerce platform across 200 hypermarkets. This transformation has given us the agility we need during peak times like Black Friday and enabled us to launch new services faster than ever. Together, NTT DATA and Google Cloud are helping us deliver more connected, seamless experiences for our customers," said José Luis González Santana, Head of IT Infrastructure, Carrefour.

The collaboration is intended to help enterprises modernise operations, address complex industry challenges through agentic AI, and meet data compliance requirements while maintaining operational innovation.
