OneAdvanced launches agentic AI for NHS, government & legal sectors
OneAdvanced has announced the deployment of its Agentic AI capabilities across key sectors in the United Kingdom, embedding autonomous AI agents in live operational workflows for healthcare, government, and legal clients.
Over the past six months, the Birmingham-based software company has integrated a suite of AI-driven agents that assist with clinical summarisation, risk management, and workforce optimisation. These agents are now active with customers such as the NHS, the British government, and a significant proportion of the UK's top law firms.
Sector adoption
The portfolio of AI agents developed by OneAdvanced includes Clinical Summarisation & Coding Agents that were co-designed alongside general practitioner surgeries. These agents are deployed to process up to 600,000 documents each day throughout NHS operations. Their tasks include automatically producing clinical summaries and suggesting SNOMED codes from a comprehensive library of 360,000 medical terms. Additional agents have been implemented for governance and compliance under the Risk Assist function, as well as Clocking & Shift Assignment Agents designed to improve scheduling efficiency and workforce deployment in regulated industries.
These technologies are described by the company as democratising access to tools that have traditionally been reserved for global enterprises, now available to mid-sized and public sector organisations. The agents have already demonstrated measurable effects, such as reducing the administrative workload faced by clinicians in UK GP practices. According to OneAdvanced, GP workflow agents have delivered capacity savings equivalent to 150,000 additional patient appointments weekly, as well as improvements in speed, accuracy, and patient outcomes.
Agentic approach
OneAdvanced attributes the shift from pilot projects to live, in-workflow deployment as a defining characteristic of this new phase in AI adoption. The company notes that agentic systems distinguish themselves by being able to set their own steps, adapt to new information, and achieve specified outcomes with limited human input, while maintaining full auditability and keeping humans informed.
Amanda Grant, Chief Product Officer at OneAdvanced, commented on the scope and ambition of the rollout:
"In just 12 months, we have developed and deployed the UK's first sovereign AI platform, with agents already transforming frontline operations for thousands of mission-critical organisations across UK communities. We're still at the tip of the iceberg. Agentic technology will become the business differentiator and help deliver not just efficiency but, crucially, genuine customer impact. We look forward to helping to normalise this technology and bring hyper-personalised services to clients."
The agentic systems are built on the company's sovereign large language model (LLM), which OneAdvanced developed in partnership and hosts exclusively within the UK. The localisation of data infrastructure is intended to strengthen compliance with UK data laws, providing what the company describes as enhanced security, auditability, transparency, and adherence to high standards of data protection by ensuring all data remains within UK borders and subject to national oversight.
Internal capability development
Alongside the agentic solutions for customers, OneAdvanced has invested in its own engineering teams to accelerate and improve software delivery. These teams are now using Co-Pilot Code Assist to boost both speed and quality of development work, and are piloting code generation agents to support activities right through from design to deployment. The company's SkillsHub initiative is providing upskilling for technical staff, focused on what it terms the "golden age of software engineering."
Andrew Henderson, Chief Technology Officer at OneAdvanced, highlighted the strategic context for these investments:
"At a time when the UK is attracting significant foreign investment to support its technological capabilities, we are proud to already be delivering world-class solutions to some of the most prestigious organisations across both the public and private sectors. We believe we have the credentials and confidence to play a meaningful role in ensuring the UK cements its role as a global hub for AI innovation."
OneAdvanced's software and AI-powered platforms are used by organisations with diverse requirements, from the NHS and government departments to educational institutions and legal practices. The company's stated approach involves delivering digitalisation and process automation through technology designed to be embedded and auditable, while ensuring customer impact and compliance remain high priorities.
