Oracle & Google Cloud partner to deliver Gemini AI on OCI
Oracle and Google Cloud have reached a new agreement to provide Google's Gemini artificial intelligence models through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for enterprise customers.
This collaboration means developers and businesses in the UK and elsewhere can now access Gemini's text, image, video and audio capabilities directly through Oracle's cloud platform. Oracle customers will be able to use their existing Oracle Cloud credits for Google AI services and integrate advanced AI capabilities into their existing workflows without needing to move between different platforms.
The launch follows Oracle's previously announced partnership with xAI and extends Oracle's approach of providing a selection of AI models to customers. The new partnership also offers Google Cloud a greater presence in the enterprise market, where Oracle's cloud services are widely used for business-critical applications and data.
Gemini models via Oracle
Oracle has stated it will make the full range of Google's Gemini models available through its Generative AI service, starting with the Gemini 2.5 model. Integration with Google's Vertex AI platform will expand support to include advanced models for video, image, speech, music generation, and specialised industry use cases such as MedLM.
The companies plan to integrate Gemini with Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications in the future, providing customers the option to incorporate these models into workflows across finance, HR, supply chain, sales, service, and marketing processes. To facilitate adoption, Oracle customers can access Google's Gemini models using their existing Oracle Universal Credits.
"Today, leading enterprises are using Gemini to power AI agents across a range of use cases and industries. Now, Oracle customers can access our leading models from within their Oracle environments, making it even easier for them to begin deploying powerful AI agents that can support developers, streamline data integration tasks, and much more," said Thomas Kurian, CEO, Google Cloud.
Google Cloud highlights Gemini's capacity for grounding outputs in up-to-date Google Search data for greater response accuracy, as well as support for large context windows, robust encryption, and data privacy. According to the company, these features support reasoning abilities suitable for complex enterprise needs.
Model choice and security focus
Clay Magouyrk, President, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, said, "Oracle has been intentional in offering model choice curated for the enterprise, spanning open and proprietary models. The availability of Gemini on OCI Generative AI service highlights our focus on delivering powerful, secure, and cost-effective AI solutions that help customers drive innovation and achieve their business goals."
Oracle's approach brings AI technologies closer to customer data with a focus on enterprise security, adaptability, and scalability. The availability of Google Cloud's Gemini models is set to support customers across different industries seeking to apply generative and agentic AI solutions to business scenarios for immediate results.
Thousands of organisations already use Oracle Cloud Infrastructure's AI tools to handle demanding workloads, including applications for generative AI, natural language processing, computer vision, and recommendation systems. High-performance GPU instances on Oracle's infrastructure support these advanced AI applications.
This partnership builds on Oracle's wider AI strategy and expands the options for Oracle customers seeking to deploy generative AI without moving their data or applications to other platforms. It reinforces Oracle's positioning for enterprises that wish to access both proprietary and open AI models with a single provider. The collaboration also extends the reach of Google Cloud's AI services into the Oracle enterprise ecosystem.
