PwC partners with Multiverse to boost AI efficiency & security
PwC has formed a strategic partnership with Multiverse Computing to advance the adoption of artificial intelligence across businesses.
The agreement will focus on bringing increased efficiency, security, and scalability to organisations deploying AI technologies.
AI optimisation
The central tool in the partnership is CompactifAI, a platform from Multiverse Computing intended to compress and optimise AI models. The company says this technology reduces storage and computing needs, enabling companies to run AI models faster and at lower operating costs. Energy consumption is expected to decrease as a result of these efficiencies.
CompactifAI allows AI deployments on both cloud infrastructures and on-premise servers. Multiverse Computing highlights that this flexibility helps organisations maintain robust data security and governance standards. The technology is also designed to enable applications such as deploying generative AI in offline environments.
Sector applications
The alliance targets several major sectors with possible applications. In financial services, the companies will focus on areas like portfolio optimisation, risk management, and scenario simulation. Industrial sectors may use the platform for production planning and predictive maintenance, as well as implementing AI in locations without internet connectivity. In the transport and logistics industries, objectives include better route planning, stock management, and resource allocation.
The partnership extends to training and upskilling for technical and business teams, designed to help organisations adopt AI responsibly and effectively.
Pilot deployment
PwC will serve as the initial user of CompactifAI, integrating it across its own internal AI models.
By acting as the first client under the partnership, PwC aims to achieve performance and efficiency improvements within its operations. This early adoption is expected to build expertise that can be used to advise other clients seeking similar benefits.
Data security
Maintaining control over sensitive data is a key consideration for CompactifAI, as the platform's compatibility with on-premise servers supports data governance frameworks and compliance with local regulations.
Client perspective
"We're excited to bring together our expertise in technology transformation with Multiverse Computing's AI optimisation capabilities, which will not only accelerate our own AI adoption but also enhance the efficiency and security of AI applications for our clients," said Marco Amitrano, Managing Partner, PwC UK.
"We believe this partnership demonstrates the practical value of AI model optimisation in even the most highly regulated sectors," said Enrique Lizaso, Chief Executive Officer, Multiverse Computing.
