Qvantel receives AWS Outposts Ready designation for Flex BSS

Thu, 23rd May 2024

Qvantel, a specialist in Digital Business Support Systems (BSS), has achieved the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Outposts Ready designation, part of the AWS Service Ready Program. This milestone acknowledges Qvantel's successful integration of its Flex BSS with AWS Outposts deployments. AWS Outposts is a comprehensive service that extends AWS infrastructure, services, APIs, and tools to virtually any data centre, co-location space, or on-premises facility, ensuring a consistent hybrid experience.

The AWS Outposts Ready designation sets Qvantel apart as a distinguished member of the AWS Partner Network (APN) with a product thoroughly tested on AWS Outposts. Such products are generally available and supported for AWS customers, complete with clear deployment documentation. AWS Service Ready Partners have shown success in building products seamlessly integrated with AWS services, thus assisting AWS customers in evaluating and effectively utilising their technology at scale and varying complexity levels.

Tero Nieminen, CTO of Qvantel, highlighted the importance of this achievement, stating, "Qvantel is continuously innovating to ensure that our customers can lead their markets and quickly and efficiently grow their businesses. The pace of innovation and agility that AWS provides delivers significant advantages to our customers." Nieminen also pointed out that Qvantel’s innovative no/low code approach with its Flex BSS aids Communication Service Providers (CSPs) in becoming agile digital companies that offer much more than just connectivity services.

The AWS Outposts Ready Program supports seamless integration and deployment of AWS Outposts-ready solutions, aiding customers in identifying integrated products and reducing the time spent on evaluating new tools. This allows customers to focus more on scaling their use of products that are configured with AWS Outposts deployments.

Qvantel Flex BSS on AWS Outposts offers a rapid, agile, and secure approach for CSPs to gain the benefits of Qvantel’s innovative no/low code BSS approach. This enables CSPs to quickly establish new revenue streams and drive new levels of efficiency. Given the sensitive nature of customer and financial information in BSS, CSPs must ensure compliance with local laws and regulations on data residency. Qvantel addresses these data residency challenges by utilising AWS Outposts, allowing CSPs to run AWS infrastructure on premises and in their own data centres, storing and processing data in locations of their choosing. An Outpost is seamlessly connected to an AWS Region, providing access to the full suite of AWS services.

Varun Galande, CCO of Qvantel, noted the longstanding partnership with AWS, stating, "Qvantel is a long-established AWS partner. Qvantel Flex BSS is available on AWS Marketplace, and we are observing significant demand for our solution running on AWS." Galande also mentioned the implementation of Qvantel Flex BSS on AWS Outposts for Etisalat Misr by e&, aiming to support the digital transformation of Etisalat's BSS. He emphasised the benefits this will bring to Etisalat Misr by e&, including increased agility, accelerated time to market, and new revenue opportunities through an expanded service portfolio.

Galande expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with global leaders and innovators such as Etisalat Misr by e& and AWS to deliver new levels of agility and efficiency to the communications and digital services industry.
